Show it! All of it! (Cavuto hits it hard)
Townhall.com (Heritage Foundation) ^ | June 26, 2004 | Neil Cavuto

...We need to understand the reality of that gore, and we need to understand it again and again. That's why I differ from my colleagues in the media, even the fine organization with whom I'm associated, FOX News, when I say, show me those beheadings of innocents like Paul Johnson and 33-year-old South Korean humanitarian worker Kim Sun-il.

Show me the senselessness of their killings. Show me the evil behind their killings. Show me it. Show me all of it. And don't sanitize it. Don't blur it, mask it, color it or frame it. Don't gloss over it and try to make us not see it or be appalled by it. You see, I want us appalled. I want us angry. I want us outraged. I want us sickened.

It took pictures and film of the atrocities of the Nazis to convince many people that the holocaust actually happened.
Sad to say, too many people in America (indeed, the world) would be inclined to side with the terrorists were it not for films of their atrocities. Note: How many people in the U.S.
refuse to believe the progress that is being accomplished in Iraq....BECAUSE THE PRESS REFUSES TO SHOW THEM!
Maybe you don't need to see the beheadings. Sadly, too many people do. Otherwise, they don't believe.

Our media is on the other side.

Seven words which sum up the problem.

There is a world of difference between the self-inflicted wounds of smokers and some jerks flying jets into your workplace. While the former might deter some smokers, the full impact of the latter only descends on those who have the will to think "My God!! Those are people jumping off of there!" or "I just saw a lot of people die in that fireball."

The rest will process the pyrotechnics with the same (or more) aplomb as the creature in 'Alien', not focusing on reality at all.

Without slapping America in the face with the harshness of the incident, Americans will do as they are, forget that there are people who doubtlessly would be here inflicting other injury on our public had we not taken the battle to them. If our troops were not providing targets for every terrorist in the Middle East, and dealing with them, then civillians would be dealing with them here. We forget this at our peril.

Start with the sanitization of the Trade Center site.

One of my best friends is a ham radio operator who went to NY immediately after the attack on 9/11 as part of the Red Cross team. He said the shots on TV were EXTREMELY sanitized. The thing he remembers most is the smell. He had nightmares for months after. Rarely talks about it now, just like my father who was an eye witness to Pearl Harbor, but has only told the story 3 times that I remember.

Bingo. It's not about "left" or "right" as the OP suggested.

It's about waking up the hundreds of millions of Joe Sixers out there who see war as one more spectator sport, and patriotism as allegiance to state accompanied by the occasional "Yay, team!" when the perfumed paratroopers are on parade, lashed to an aging ex-prexy.

The world is in a crisis the likes of which it's never faced before -- an incomprehensible amalgam comprised of the powderkeg leading up to WWI, the atrocities of WWII, and the religious madness that led up to the conquest of Europe, and the Crusades.

Only this time, the madmen have weapons of unimaginable destruction -- and, the will to use them.

But hey, let's not watch anything that might upset someone. Besides, the Big Game is on this weekend. We've got better things to do than "dwell on the negativity". Let's go get some sixpacks and watch the tube.

Bread and circuses -- the time-proven antidote to reality. Guaranteed to keep the meat content -- until it's too late.

Literally, the staff of entertainment and news and other media across the board are disproportionately homosexual.

If we can show body parts and corpses of those 'killed by smoking,' it seems silly not to show them when they have REALLY been killed.

Well, looks like the mediamasters will get six more chances to change their minds and let the meat see what's really going on.

The butchers that have been brutally decapitatating their victims announced earlier today that they'd kidnapped three more innocents that they'd be killing -- and then later in the day, there was a vehicle bombing, and the bastards kidnapped another three victims.

And meanwhile, Fallujah has become a taliban city-state within Iraq. The media has been pretty damn quiet about that nightmare too. Go figure, eh?

Show it. Show it all. The planes, the fires, the bodies hurtling through air, the aftermath of impact of human bodies on concrete. The armed thugs behind the bound hostage. The knives and the grappling hostage being sliced apart. The agonized screams and the blood spurting everywhere while the terrorists gleefully raise the severed head for all to see. They play to the Muslim audience, but believe the Western masses will cower in fear.

Show every second of everything they've done. Show it all so that people will know that their fate is reflected in what has occured. Show it all so that people will be sickened and show it because it reflects the true nature of the enemy beasts.

Show it because it is the truth. That's why we're here, isn't it? To expose the truth?

If today's self-censors were in the control booth in the 1940s and 1950s, all we'd have seen of the aftermath of WWII would have been proud German and Japanese soldiers on parade (don't want to create hostility toward the enemy, after all), and heavily sanitized reports from the field.

I remember books like, "The Theory and Practice of Hell". I doubt we'll ever see anything comparable in the aftermath of the islamic world war.

Of course, that may very well end up being due to the principle that asserts that the victors write the history books.

We've descended to a very dangerous position, in which we're not only forbidden to hate our enemy, but, we're obligated to honor him.

It's madness, sheer madness.

Let them see what this foolish president got us into for nothing.

It's only "for nothing" if we lose.

And the president is only "foolish" if we lose.

It is a war to protect civilization. If these terrorist were left alone and America left the middle east. I would be only a matter of a few years before the Madras started pumping out armys to attack the US on our soil. These people want us dead because we live freely and as we choose not under a religious theocracy.

We are confronted by a mental aberration masquerading as a religion. It is unique among mental disorders in that it is contagious, and extremely virulent.

It overtook and consumed Europe for a protracted period of time, relatively recently, in the grand scheme of things.

Its goal is world conquest. It will settle for nothing less.

This is not about Israel, or "Palestine" (a "land" that was never a nation at any point in history), or oil, or "democracy", or anything else, other than the total "submission" (that word is the English translation of the Arabic word "Islam") of the world.

When you are faced with an intractable foe, devoted to your destruction, you have two ... no, you have three options.

You can contain him. Good luck trying.
You can destroy him. But not if you don't have the stomach for it!
You can let him overtake you, and destroy you.

It is a very sobering moment when that realization sinks in.

I am obviously not optimistic about the future of civilization.

For almost 60 years we have been shown the horrible pictures of the NAZI death camps. Are they somehow LESS horrible that the sight of a man being beheaded by a terrorist assasin? Show 'em every day..until the Bast..ds who were responsible are removed from the face of this earth. And then show 'em some more so that the wusses in the liberal establishment are reminded of what they were supporting!

If the social and political "hallway monitors" in charge now were running the show back then, we'd be eating sushi and ordering it in German today.

Seriously.

One more thought:

Maybe you don't need to see the beheadings. Sadly, too many people do. Otherwise, they don't believe.

America is in a hypnotic state, secure in the delusion that "it can't happen here", less than three years after it did happen here!

IMO this is in large part due to the ongoing sanitization of the atrocities committed against us.

Orwell is vindicated. The past is being revised on a daily basis, and we'll have hell to pay in the future because of it.

He has his own show. Why not show it there?

Because he needs to feed his family and make his mortgage payments?

Remember, Drudge lost his job at Fox because he insisted on showing a picture of a fetus. One image, and *poof*, no more job.

It seems that you don't cross Rupert and then expect to come to work the next day.

ouch!

how long did it take the networks and cable stations to stop showing the planes going into the Towers? they don't want us to remember. And, had they any control, we'd never have seen it at all.
