The American author Ray Bradbury has demanded that Michael Moore return the title of his classic novel Fahrenheit 451.
Bradbury, whose science-fiction tome Fahrenheit 451 was published in 1953, blasted Moore, whose politically explosive film Fahrenheit 9/11 opened in North America this weekend, for using the title without permission and asked for an apology and for the film's name to be changed. "It's not a nice thing he has done," Bradbury, 83, said. "My book is known all over the world and that title is my title."
Bradbury said he wanted a public apology from director and author, who published a book last year slamming the Administration of President George Bush.
Moore's representatives did not return calls for comment as his movie opens across North America.

Ping!
I guess when Moore says that "Americans are the stupidest people on the planet" he was referring to himself.
Ray Bradbury is still living? I figured Moore plagarized Bradbury's book title after the man had passed away.
Hey Ray, sue that jerk!
Don't hold your breath, Ray.
I suspect his attorney informed him that British Law has much more stringent liable laws.
No, when he says "Americans are the stupidest people on the planet" what he means is no one has called him on the asinine "statement" in his movie's TV ad which says:
Fahrenheit: The temperature at which air is ignited
or something like that. Fahrenheit is not a point of temperature, nor does air "ignite". Moore and the people who work for him are just as ham fisted about science and literature as they are at political propaganda.

Forget the apology
$ue him!
Without money he has NO voice.
Off the topic but what do you know of Sir John Templeton?? Seems he donated 1 million (not sure if it is pounds or $, to counter George Soros????
Just more publicity for Moore. Just like Moore's claiming that Disney refused to honor their contract to handle his scurrilous film.
Meanwhile the media ignores Bradbury mostly.
Book titles, unfortunately, cannot be copyrighted.
Nope, Moore apologizes to no one. He's above all that. That's why Ray should sue Moore for every dime he makes off this film. Wait a minute, that will be all of 460,000?
You can say that again!
You took the words out of my mouth. For some reason I have never understood, book titles cannot be copyrighted. It's common to recycle old titles.
On the other hand, this is still an insult to a fine writer. He should have had the courtesy to at least try to clear it with Bradbury. Moreover, it's not as if the title really makes much sense for the movie; in that regard, it's a pure ripoff of Bradbury's original, with which Moore hypocritically pretends to have some sort of concern for free speech.
I have a recent edition of Fahreheit 451. In the back is part of an interview that Ray Bradbury gave regarding his work. The interviewer repeatedly tries to bait Mr. Bradbury into making negative political comments about the US and the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. And Mr. Bradbury repeatedly slaps him down.
After reading this interview, I'm pretty certain that Mr. Bradbury's anger toward Michael Moore isn't just about the title of his so-called documentary.
If i was Ray I would sue also (though he probably wouldn't win)
Seems to me that Libs cant actually create anything orginal they can only Ape of peoples work
