Some worry about the fact that America's "best and brightest" are supposedly not enlisting.
Actually, they've been doing so all along.
Fair winds and following seas to the George Washington Carrier Strike Group!

When my husband was working in Norfolk VA on the Coral Sea the GW was parked right next it. I didn't get to see the GW when I was there for a visit. The GW had gone out to sea for a few days of training.
My husband said that GW made the Coral Sea look mighty small.

Maybe he was thinking of the Ike. We were moored right next to her at the carrier pier, and yeah, she made the Coral Sea look small.

I swear that he told me that the GW. I just asked him and he doesn't remember (old timers disease), which one it was. So you are probably right. He worked on the Coral in 87, just a year or so prior to it being decommissioned.

WOO HOO!!!! Cool!! My son has enlisted in the Navy and will be leaving in January. I'll have to show him these pics! Also, a woman in another office in the courthouse in which I work has a son on the USS George Washington. I'll have to show them to her. I'm so proud of our sailors!
