Because I am a lady and a Christian and I have standards of decency by which I hope our leaders will conduct themselves. Just as I was glad that my teachers could not swear and curse and carry on in the course of their duties, I would like the same civility from our nation's leaders. From what I've heard, Mr. Cheney professes to believe in Christ. Anger and strife breed anger and strife.
This boils down to a simple issue of losing one's temper when provoked, and being pulled offsides into the gutter with the likes of Leahy. It's not honorable. It's not cute. It's not praiseworthy in God's eyes. It sets a bad example for anyone who hears of it. Next time, if there is a next time, will he blow up at a foreign leader whose support is crucial to America's goals? That's why.
