Please take a moment and remember my family in your prayers. My dear mother, Lois Mary Shields, nee Guidry, died yesterday of a heart attack. She suffered from congestive heart failiure as a complication of diabtetes. She and my father were married 46 years and now my father is alone. He and my mother loved each other very much. As children we always knew that my parents loved each other. My father suffered a stroke 2 weeks ago which has left him confused and has greatly slurred his speech and has caused mobility problems. I spoke to him last night and he didn't seem to understand what all the commotion was about. I'm leaving for home very soon and would deeply appreciate your prayers and thoughts.

It hardly seems fair, does it? A lifetime of loving, gone in a moment. Maybe your father's confusion due to a stroke is a blessing sent from God. My prayers for your father, and especially for you, who will be the one who has to deal with this loss for both of you. Remembering the love, laughter and happiness you grew up with will help sustain you. God Bless You and your family!
I will pray for you Mom and Dad lovingly. I was spared by the Grace of God from a severe stroke in July, 2002. Not wanting to go into details on this message board, I will simmply say that God's grace is everything. Praying for them now.
