Another nice smack in the face for the Democratic Party. God Bless, Zell!
To: kattracks
Miller was appointed because they knew he was the only Dem who could hold the seat in the election..

I'm sure that the Senate Democratic caucus is very eager to expel Zell ... but probably won't do it for fear of the impact upon conservative Southern Democrats; they're very optimistic of holding at least 2 or 3 of the 5 Democratic seats (including Zell's) which are coming vacant this November.

"Democratic Rep. John Lewis, who called the senator's decision "a shame and a disgrace." No Rep. Lewis, Senator Miller's decision is not shameful or disgraceful -- it's the party which left him that's shameful and disgraceful.

Ed Koch and Zell Miller have stated their preference for President Bush. Only two of the prominent democrats that have, there are probably more.
Has their been ANY Republican of similar stature who has expressed support for Kerry?
To: kattracks
Zell is one of the few Dems that still believes in America.
The rest will whine that this is a partisan effort of the evil republicans. Which party is the inclusive party? Who is bringing true Americans together?

"I advocated his appointment," Kahn said of Miller. "He said he would be independent and he was for a while, but he hasn't been lately. He's been in lockstep with the Republicans and I don't know what's happened to him. It's really kind of sad." What's so confusing? He's a Marine, and we are at war.

Democratic Rep. John Lewis, who called the senator's decision "a shame and a disgrace." I'll bet good money that if mclame had agreed to join kerry on the RAT ticket, lewis would call such a decision "bi-partisan and courageous".

Good for you Zell. And here I thought the term "loyal opposition" was dead.

I'll like to see them invite Joe Lieberman also to speak on terrorism. He would be a clear voice on fighting the WOT with a democratic face.
Any Democrat watching might begin to understand their party has been hijacked by the socialist party.

Conservative Democrat = "Scoop" Jackson Democrat = Warmonger
A Democrat -- or a Republican, for that matter -- opposed to United States being the world's policeman would not be welcome on the speakers' platform at a Republican convention.
Just ask Pat Buchanan.

This is really good news. It will help the Republicans immensely in winning all these open Senate seats in the South this year. Zell will be telling Southern Democrats it is OK to vote Republican. This is going to drive the DNC batty. And how delicious to have the person who gave the keyonte at Bill Clinton's nominating convention speaking to the Republicans!!!!!!!!

It's a shame they didn't ask Zell to introduce W for his acceptance speech. None of the networks will cover a second of Zell's speech.

WASHINGTON (AP) Georgia Sen. Zell Miller, the highest profile Democrat to endorse President Bush for re-election, will speak at the Republican National Convention later this summer, a congressional aide said Friday. This makes you want to smile, doesn't it?

This has to be the most obviously slanted report I've ever seen, but oh well. It'll be great to have Zell at the convention.
