'Destroyed' Lewinsky Speaks Out on Clinton Memoir

LONDON (Reuters) - Monica Lewinsky says she feels betrayed by Bill Clinton's failure to acknowledge how he destroyed her life in his newly released memoirs.

In an interview with British broadcaster ITV to be shown on Friday, the former White House intern best known for her affair with the 42nd U.S. president says she was disappointed at how their relationship is addressed.

"I really didn't expect him to talk in detail about the relationship," she said, according to a partial transcript of the interview provided by ITV.

"But what I was hoping, and did expect was for him to acknowledge and correct the inaccurate and false statements that he, his staff and the (Democratic National Committee) made about me when they were trying to protect the presidency," she said.

In response to Clinton's recent remark to U.S. news show "60 Minutes" that he had the affair "for the worst possible reason -- because I could," Lewinsky said she "was really upset" when she first heard it.

"I have spent the past several years working so hard to just move on, and to try and build a life for myself," said Lewinsky, 30, who has been a spokeswoman for diet company Jenny Craig and host of the reality TV show "Mr. Personality."

Lewinsky, who told her own account of the affair in the 1999 book "Monica's Story," said she reluctantly spoke out about Clinton's tome "My Life" because he tried to rewrite history.

"He says he was proud of the way that he defended the presidency, at my expense," she said.

"In the process he destroyed me, and that was the way he was going to have to do that, to get through impeachment," Lewinsky added. "I was a young girl and to hear him saying some of the things he was saying today -- it's a shame."

Lewinsky insists during the ITV interview that she had a relationship with Clinton even though he never uses the word in the book, instead opting for "inappropriate encounter" on page 773 of the 957-page autobiography.

"This is something that I never wanted to talk about publicly and I know he wished had never become public. But this was a mutual relationship, from the way it started all the way through," Lewinsky said.

Her affair with Clinton while he was in office and his subsequent denials of it led to his impeachment in December 1998 after a lengthy and expensive investigation by independent counsel Ken Starr.

ITV will broadcast excerpts of the interview during its lunchtime, evening and late-night news. There also will be a half-hour special, "Monica Lewinsky: My Side of the Story," at 2200 GMT on ITV1.

Ken Starr Got It Right! Bill Clinton Lied Under Oath!

CNN) -- In his new memoir, former U.S. President Bill Clinton says his "inappropriate" encounters with Monica Lewinsky began when she claimed they did, during the government shutdown in November 1995.

That account contradicts his August 1998 testimony before a federal grand jury that investigated the case.

Dear Monica:

Bill Clinton did not destroy your life; he wasn't the one who made you dumber than a bag of rocks and more gullible than a two year-old child.

Just heard Miz Lewinsky on the radio...just a short clip from the interview:

"Can't you just step up to the plate and..."

I guess I always thought Monica L. was smart enough to know that Slick was NEVER going to "step up to the plate" where she was concerned. Attractive girl; dumber than dirt, apparently.

Monica is still delusional. Billy Jeff never thought it was a "relationship", he was getting serviced. Has Monica forgotten that she admitted that Bill couldn't even remember her NAME the first few times they were "together"? Gee, he must have really cared about her....

I'm as sick of her whining as I am of Clinton's sorry defense of his actions.

He did not destroy her. She destroyed herself. Clinton was not her first sugar daddy.

Does anyone think she would be a spokesperson for a national product, or host of a show had she not been dribbled on (sorry for that) by the prez? Methinks she doth protest too much.

If it hadn't been for the want of a $10 dry cleaning bill, Monica would really know what it was to be destroyed by the Great Ejaculator!

How did he destroy her life?

She woudn't have a reality show without him!

He made her life, no?

Not to defend Clinton's conduct, of course, but this is more than a little ridiculous.

Monica's delusion is apparently genetic. When her father happened to meet Bill Clinton at some kind of Democratic fund-raiser back in the late 1990s when Monica and Bill were "going at it," that moron actually speculated that he might be talking to his future father-in-law.

You can't make that sh!t up, can you? LOL.

Ooooh! I'm not! The left invented women-as-perpetual-victims, and now they have to hear their great icon described as a callous user of women. Every Monica whine has to be like running a cheesegrater over the knuckles of the NOW (though, notice, it's ITV interviewing her, not NBC, ABC or CBS).

Sorry darlin', but the only life and feelings that Clinton validates are his own and even that's only for the right here and right now.

Yep. That little speck of DNA is the only thing that kept the Toon and his rabid attack dogs from launching a total "nuts and sluts" offensive against her. If she thinks it's bad now, she should consider how bad it could have been if not for that stain.

I believe that the majority of people in this country think he was impeached because of the relationship. It's true. The press did it's job by repeating over and over that it was all about sex.
