A new claim surfaced, that the group which kidnapped (beheading victim) Kim Sun-il, the employee of Gana Trading Co., is different from the group which beheaded him.
A high level official in (S. Korean) government said on June 25th, "Based on our investigation so far, we suspect that an armed group kidnapped Mr. Kim for ransom. However, their negotiation broke down over the amount of ransom (to be paid), and they turned Mr. Kim over to Tawhid wa al-Jihad(Zarqawi's group.)
Paris Jamar, station chief of Al-Jazeera in Jordan, also speculated that the group which kidnapped Mr. Kim was unhappy with the amount of ransom money Kim Chun-ho, the president of Gana Trading Co., was willing to pay and turned him over to the international terrorist group(Tawhid wa al-Jihad), which might have paid more money.
Actually, there is a precedent. Steven Farrell, a reporter for The Times of England, was covering news near Fallujah, Iraq on last April 8th. He was kidnapped by Ali Baba(bandits), turned over to Mujahedins, and later released. He said, "There are numerous armed groups in Iraq, terrorists, Ali Babas, Baathists, and Islamists. They exchange information and cooperate with one another."
Many circumstantial evidences supports this claim.
If we compare video tape AP obtained in early June with the tape Al-Jazeera aired on June 21st and 23rd, we can definitely see the difference in kidnappers' demeanor.
In Al-Jazeera's tape, we can see the yellow circle, the symbol of Tawhid wa al-Jihad, and the black banner with an arabic phrase, 'There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is Allah's Prophet.' However, in AP's tape, we see nothing but cement wall.
Armed men in Al-Jazeera's tape all have guns and appear to intimidate Mr. Kim. He seemed to expect his death, crying out, "I want to live", and was extremely frightened.
No armed man is shown in AP's tape. We only hear a voice of a (interrogating) kidnapper. It is neither threatening nor raised. Mr. Kim did show some sign of anxiety but was able to calmly answer kidnapper's questions. He was not in despair.
Kidnappers in AP's tape are not well-organized. They failed to tell why they kidnapped him. Armed thugs in Al-Jazeera's tape made explicit the reason for their kidnapping, conditions for release, and conditions for his killing.

Ping!
Kidnappers are selling captured people to the butchers.
Yeah, that's what it sounds like. They kidnap, try to get ransom, and if they aren't offerred enough, accept "reward" money from the other terrorist group.
Cozy little business venture. Peddle innocent humans as if they were seashells, and then claim that there is no blood on your hands.
Is Al-Jazeera shifting blame here from the original kidnappers by making it sound like Gana Trading is blameworthy because they were too greedy to pay the terrorists the amount they requested?
Maybe.
Thanks for the translation.
