But it's worth noting that there were 3.1 million kids born in the US in 1943 . . . . . - so there a lot of canoodling going on in war time in any case I give you: The Leadpenny. Badabing!
I think we were also called, "War Babies."

I was born in 1964. I like the term Joneser for the wonderful group of people who were too young for Woodstock and too old for Sesame Street.
My parents were born in 1934 and 1938 and don't have much in common with the boomers. They remember the rationing during the war and listening to the radio. They don't like rock n roll and never did drugs. They're still married. They believed in spanking, not therapy when we kids got out of line.

Next week I turn 40.
(How the H*LL did that happen!?)
But my parents were boomers, had me young. I've got one foot in both worlds, boomer and Xer, but since I fit the profile of an Xer I consider myself the oldest Xer I've ever heard of.
It's about the life experiences each generation had, I think:
- The 'Greatest Generation' -- lived thru the depression and/or WWII, and were shaped by those experiences (frugal, hard working, planned for the future).
- The Boomers -- lived thru the post-WWII prosperity, and were shaped by that experience (stereotypical 'spoiled brats').
- Xers -- grew up watching the excesses and idiocies of the 'boomer' generation, and was shaped by that experience.

I was born in 1960. I never thought of myself as a boomer either. I was born in 1963 ... Never thought of myself as a boomer either
It's like being the youngest of the family ... we were always ignored

I was also born in 1960 and never considered myself to be a boomer.
My husband is a different story......he was born in 1955 and that 5 years is a major generational difference between us.

I do get a kick out of teasing my oldest brother .. I tend to remind him that when he was graduating from High School .. I was just starting 1st grade .. LOL

I've always thought boomers were better qualified as the children of parents who were adults during WWII(greatest generation). Yeah. That's a good way of looking at it.

Mrs. P. was born two months before me: she at the end of 1964 and I in early 1965. I kid her about being a Baby Boomer instead of a Gen-Xer like me. It's funny but I'd prefer to be labled a Gen -Xer than a Boomer.
Before I'm flamed I'd just like to qualify that some of my best friends are Boomers.

If you were born in the early sixties..Was your first date to the movie Grease? Or Animal House? Halloween? Heaven Can Wait? The Buddy Holly Story?
To: TomHarkinIsNotFromIowa
Come to think of it .. I don't remember going to the movies on a date back in those days
We went to the CYO dances .. does that count?
