College student says he was trying to expose security weaknesses
...
A North Carolina college student who hid box cutters on airplanes to expose weaknesses in airline security was sentenced Thursday to two years of supervised probation and fined $500.
Nathaniel Heatwole of Damascus, Md., a student at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., also must serve 100 hours of community service and reimburse his parents for up to $500 in legal expenses under the sentence imposed by U.S. District Judge Paul Grimm.

I think he should have done jail time.
Agreed.
Ditto on the jail time.
Where did he hide the box cutters, in his fat little chipmunk cheeks?
I like his spirit.
way to zero in on the important stuff.
It was a little levity at the expense of the crusading airline avenger. Look at the photo and tell me he doesn't belong in a Rescue Rangers cartoon.
You probably hate the guy who invented the alarm clock, too.
Yep, jail time. There is no excuse for being stupid.
He would have been in less hot water if they had caught him trying to hide the sausage. What was he thinking?
I don't understand your point.
But to answer you, yes, every morning I hate the guy who invented the alarm clock.
They should have given that kid an award for pointing out the weaknesses in TSA's security measures. TSA gets off scot-free and the kid gets a criminal record, seem fair enough to me.
Well, I'm originally from Maryland. ;)
WTFIIWMD?
Scaring the crap out of the passengers is okay with you?
If I was on the plane, this kid would still be in the hospital.
I think I'd be more scared of the fact that TSA security couldn't stop him from doing it.
And yet. Able to outwit the TSA who sleep while they guard you.
That's right, punish the kid who yells out "the King has no clothes!" Off with their heads, I say! What a country: a rapist elected POTUS, double murderer in retirement in Florida, SLA murderers rewarded with free graduate degrees in prison and then set free, Jeffrey Dahmer should have lived to collect his reward!
