That was an unnecessary gesture at best and respect for a demon god is not honorable in the sight of our God. Unless you do not believe the Bible.

Permit me to rephrase, for brevity, what you posted...

Mohammed was the evil and deranged spawn of Satan.

What is missing here is an understanding of the original motivations of Muhammad for penning the Quran and exhorting his followers to spread Islam. For this we must go to the Old Testament and understand that the Lord of Hosts setteld his Covenant on the patriarch Abraham and his descendants through his son Israel (Isaac) As a descendant of Abraham's son Ishmael, Muhammad was well aware of this fact after studying both Old and New Testaments. Setting out to correct what he viewed as an 'injustice' and a denial of his birthright, he plagiarized most of what went into the Quran and passed if off as his own 'divinely inspired' writing. Of course the fact that the books of the Old Testament make no mention of this man as a 'prophet' or 'savior' or 'mahdi' or 'great teacher' should be obvious to any Bibical scholar or literate theologian. Muhammad's purpose, and the purpose of his more fanatical followers is clear- to steal the covenant and birthright given to the sons of Israel. This is not to say that Ishamaelites are denied salvation or Heaven It is meerly to say that like Gentiles such as myself, Arabs and other non Israelites are required to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ for our salvation. Whereas before the coming of the Christ, the Isrealites were, according to scripture, Jehovah's 'chosen', Christianity represents the unversalization of the Law and the Prophets to ALL peoples of the Earth-Jew, Gentile, Arab, to the exclusion of NONE This is the beauty and hope of the New Testament and acceptance of the divinity of Jesus Christ It should be noted that virutally ALL of the lands that were conquered by the sword in the centuries following the death of Muhammad, had been Christianized peacefully by missionaries of the Church ( and by Church, I do NOT mean exclusively the Church of Rome) and that it is highly unlikely that these lands would have accepted Islam except under duress or conquest I am willing to stipulate the over the centuries there have been many atrocities committed by fanatical misguided Christians such as the Inqusition by Rome, but a clear understanding of the Gospels today shows us that such actions are NOT to be sanctioned in our efforts to eveangelize people and bring them to Christ and salvation. This understanding makes the barbarism of Islamic extremists all the more reprehensible as people today are free to accept or reject Christianity with no civil punishment- we are not commanded to kill or destroy those who reject the Gospels - merely to pray for them to ultimately accept it. This should serve to further underline the utter barbarity of the Quran and its followers who believe they must kill those who do not accept Islam as 'god's law' It would deny the excercise of the free will that is given to ALL humans One must accept salvation of Christ willingly- not under threat of death- This is why Islam must eventually fail - it will never be accepted by free men who fully understand its history and the counterfeit nature of its origins and its founder

"For Islam to be a religion, Muhammad must be a prophet of God."

So if somehow proof were found that Muhammad was not the prophet of God, what then???

It is no wonder that Muslims are so defensive about their religion--death to apostates, death to proselytizers of other religions, death to anyone who slanders Muhammad, etc. No wonder questioning is banned. If the basic tenet were successfully challenged, the entire superstructure would collapse. Therefore, challenge must be prohibited.

The kind of freedom of inquiry, freedom of thought, freedom of mind and speech, and search for truth for its own sake, that are fundamental to Western Civilization and responsible for Western achievements and successes, are not possible under Islam.

If they were allowed, the basic tenets of Islam would be questioned and challenged, and Muslims and non-Muslims alike suspect that Islam and its basic tenets cannot survive such scrutiny.

According to Mo, he initially thought his mission was to reform and revitalize Judaism.

Somewhere along the way he got off the track (it would seem).

Here's the problem ~ there is no evidence outside of the Arab communities of Mecca and Medina for Mo's existence! No doubt there was some sort of religious reform exercised in Mecca because the Khaba was devastated.

Part of what's going on is found in Mo's own report of his first encounter with an angel. He was told to reach down and pick up a scroll and read it. That meant there was at least one scroll in a cave in the vicinity of Mecca. What kind of scroll could that be? Since folks all over the Middle East (and even further away) were in the practice of sending copies of their "gods" and their sacred texts to Mecca for preservation and safe-keeping in it's very dry climate, there could be anything there!

There were Jewish tribes throughout Arabia. These are mostly commercial people traveling along the major traderoutes from the East ~ Abraham clearly followed one of those routes. Jews bury old Torahs in the ground in a formal funeral. Bedouin regularly dig up stuff buried in the ground for sale and/or use elsewhere. You don't have to have much of an imagination to find written sources in the ground for Mo's use!

One of Mo's complaints concerned "changes" that had been made in the messages sent by God. From this it is easy to figure out he had more than one Torah, and they differed! When it comes to Christian documents, Mo seems not to have had even a single copy of one full Gospel available to him. I believe the Moslems rectified this problem once they got to Damascus (where there was a large Christian community). At the moment there are (German) archaeologists studying some ancient Korans found in a sealed room in an ancient mosque in Yemen. Some of these Korans show the sort of differences you would expect from folks trying to correlate one inadequate text with another barely more adequate text.

The earliest Moslems were much more "tolerant" than today's crew, and for a period of 300 years they were as likely to hold prayer in a Christian church as in a separate mosque.

Then, there was the DARK AGES! The Arabs had the good fortune to begin digging their way out of total economic, social and governmental collapse first! No doubt they would have totally reformed their Islam into more recognizable Christian and Jewish forms had they not gotten so much Arab tribal politics involved in the structuring of their new religion.

It's still not too late for them to resume the work initiated in Damascus.
