This is a question for our military people or anyone in the know about these things. I'm still fuming over the link I posted and found this:

Active duty soldiers, are they allowed to spout off in this manner while still on active duty??
Okay, they're still taxpayers, remember. When Clinton was in power the negative comments from senior military officers got so loud and disgruntled that it became an official order from the White House that solders were forbidden from being critical of Presidential policies or the Commander in Chief personally. Conservatives howled in rage, then. But careers of some very good men and women were summarily sacrificed by Clinton, which hurt this country in it's military capabilities. So it's a sword that cuts both ways.
