I drive a kia minivan that gets about the same mileage as your Suburban. I DO iwsh I had a 4x4 Suburban and I wish they'd bring back the diesel Suburban in 4x4. My wife is planning on getting the new extended Saturn VUE as a hybrid when it comes out next year or the year after. The minivan is dogmobile #1 with the first Newfoundland dog almost three years old and waiting for another newfie to get born by our breeder. Two such pups requires a big vehicle. But if I didn't need such a vehicle this is what I'd have:

COMMUTER CARS

But THIS is the ultimate "ROAD WARRIOR" vehicle:

SPORTSMOBILE I actually toured their factory in Austin, Texas. They offer diesel models and are 100% custom made to your specs! Look around the site some. Off road they could be on a par with Hummer, I kid you not. And you can get RV insurance which is less....AND a 15 year loan as a second home. Really!

It's terrible I know but I love the road warrior type cars. (all could probably have guessed that from my posts over the months) Choice number one in your post just doesn't do it for me.

I have really want a Hummer, but gas and cost of the vehicle are a huge drawback. So I will stick with my 4x4 Burban, I love it. Brought it with me from Wyoming where it was definitely needed!!

Regarding the Sportsmobile - lets hope life in the future doesn't require us to live in our vehicles and keep moving. If it does, this vehicle looks ideal.
