Since we're throwing out dates, it's my turn. I certainly hope that there's no pool; I sure don't want to win.

The date of turnover to the interim goverment in Iraq. Simultaneous strikes there and here, to distract and weaken our force's morale.

I don't accept that morale will weaken; I believe that every event does no more than harden our resolve.

I do believe that the goblins think it will, as they see the blatherings of our agenda driven media, and the seditious behaviour of our most outspoken socialists.

Another reason for choosing this date is from insight into their arrogance. They may attempt to tear down ours on the day that we build up Iraq; a satanic "eye for an eye".

My 2 cents. I hope we all lose the pool.

Somebody here (definitely one of the "folks in the loop") sent me a freepmail giving the following odds:

A 70% chance we'll suffer a moderately sized attack on home soil prior to the elections. A 5% chance the terrorists won't try anything at all. A 25% chance that our Homeland Security and Law Enforcement will manage to interdict all attempts made against us. I think that assessment is spot on.
