Clinton claim causes stir in NZ
24 June 2004
Bill Clinton has raised eyebrows in New Zealand after claiming his wife, Hillary Clinton, was named after famous Kiwi mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary, AFP reported today.
Problem is, Hillary conquered Mount Everest in 1953, almost seven years after infant Hillary was born.
Clinton makes the claim in his memoir, My Life, which went on sale this week.
The former president travelled to New Zealand several times while in office and referred to Sir Edmund as "the second favourite Hillary in our household". Hillary Clinton herself has attributed her name to the mountaineer.
Clinton's book has set a record for first day non-fiction sales with 400,000 copies bought in the United States, the former president's publisher says.
Can you even believe he is STILL telling this story?
How long ago did we debunk that?
Goes to show they are so self-centered that they just automatically believe that if they say it, it's true!
They should hire a lie wrangler to keep track of this stuff. I just can't believe Larry Zeiger King didn't bring this up....
makes me sad "
don't worry. be of good cheer. enjoy your family, friends, and country; for:
MAT 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
This saying is going to be the bain of every school administrator and person in authority come autumn..........
Thanks a lot IPWGOP! And just before bed too.
(shudder)
I don't think he knows. Who would tell him? He sure doesn't surf Free Republic. Dems like these people are in their own little sheltered cocoon and isolated from the real world.
Ping and don't blame me since I didn't vote for Klinton.
Snopes tried really hard to make the connection. Although they admit it was improbable, they still made the excuse that Hillary's mother was the one who told her.
What an Idiot! The master Idiot for all the little Idiot DemocRATS!
Well, looks like Hillary's MOM lied, too!!
must be genetic...
Did Edmund have a Wide Load arse, too?
You beat me to it. I was thinking along the same lines.
(Maybe someday people will see that both Klintoons are raving lunatics.)
Any chance we could have a cite as to page#,
and a short quote? Not that I doubt the veracity
of the story, but it would be too easy for some
DNC operator to have fed false FUD to the media,
so as to blame the VRWC.
> Do you suppose that Bill Clinton is unaware
> that this LIE was exposed years ago.
I'm inclined to call it a "misstatement", until
he's called on it. Personally, I use "lie" for
misstatements that are known by the teller to be
false at the time they make them (or at least
suspected to be false, or simply fabricated on
the spot with only a remote chance of being true).
Someone needs to ask him: "When you wrote that,
were you aware that it was impossible for it to
be true?"
This could deliberate. If Clinton is denying
what we've all heard him say on audio tape re:
taking Bin Laden from Sudan, then this sort of
little fib comes easily.
"Who are you gonna believe, a President of the
United States, or your own lyin' ears?"
No doubt, once he's brought up to speed on
history, he'll blame a "scriveners error" for
that being in the book.
That he forgot it can only mean he's suffering from dimentia.
I suspect that it is really syphillis (spelling???)

Note that liberal biased Snopes refuses to call Hillary a liar. They say that her mom "could" be the real liar. Whatever. Enable them.
