Billy Boy missed a golden opportunity to open with "It was a dark and stormy night..." Clowntoon's book is, of course, a fairy tale. That will make it a front-runner for the next Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest "honoring" the opening sentence to the worst of all possible novels.
"It was on a dark and stormy night, August 19, 1946, I was born, during a violent summer storm, to a single mother in the Julia Chester Hospital in Hope, a town of about six thousand in southwest Arkansas, thirty-three miles east of the Texas border at Texarkana."
