>>>"In the last Crusade Christians could not exterminate a region of the earth. Now, we can do it in 45 minutes."
Alexander the Great, bad a** that he was, would obliterate those towns that offered resistance. If they were friendly, they were spared. If they offered resistance, the BEST that they received included the following: men killed, women sold into slavery. Many got worse.
I don't think that technology is necessarily a factor here.
Hoppy
Bush is "cowering"? Nonsense.
More like the majority of the public is cowering. Americans have shown they are extremely susceptable to the MSM, and have not the backbone to fight anymore. They want it all to "just go away".
Bush is holding on by his fingernails, he knows the public is weak and soft, which is why he went to Iraq so soon after Afganastan. He wanted to rid the US of an extreme danger, and knew if he waited, it would never happen.
And he was right, no human being can withstand the outright slander, libel, and have their very humanity questioned 24/7, and survive. He and his mother and father, can only take so much, and no way can they fight this propaganda.
Do not blame Bush, he cannot do what you want without public approval.
Blame ourselves for allowing the elites in NY, and Hollywood, to run our lives, our speech, our elections, our culture, our country, our government representatives, our mood, and our preceptions.
The minority that now support Bush are cowering from the reality that our enemy has never been the Dems, the Islamic cults, or Clinton, but the "makers of perceptions", and the "keepers of the information", who have worked to defeat Israel in the same manner, (making the cults victims), for 30 years.
The moment our masters in NY and Hollywood decided to remove their flag pins, (a week after 9/11), Bush was doomed, as any Republican Pres who decided to use American military might, would have been.
Leslie Stahl said as much to Chrissy Matthews, "after 9/11, we worked to get our power back, and we finally have it now".
MY POINT EXACTLY !!
1/2 of America is not behind this war on terroism anyway. And the president is a politician 1st and foremost. Of course we would like to destroy terrorism but are Americans prepared to fight a war that would mean destroying the muslim faith. I highly doubt it. Are we willing to occupy Iran, Syria and overthrow the current regime in Saudi Arabia ?? If we tried it do you really think Bush would get re-elected ?? How would the economy be effected ?? Our only hope is to find another nation or to fight the next few battles for us. Kinda like when we supported Bin Laden and Saddam in the 80's. Otherwise we will have just liberated Iraq.
"The problem is, we won't. Fallujah? al-Sadr? We can, but we won't. This WoT became a PC war months ago; thanks to the leftists. We cannot win a PC war. Our Administration is cowering because a half dozen guys put panties on a prisoner's head. We didn't win in Fallujah; although we could have. We didn't win against al-Sadr; although we could have."
Unfortunately, you are correct.
