Afghans behead Taliban in revenge for beheadings

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, June 22 (Reuters) - Afghan soldiers beheaded four Taliban fighters after guerrillas cut off the heads of an Afghan interpreter for U.S.-led forces and an Afghan soldier, a government commander said on Tuesday.

The interpreter and the soldier were beheaded after becoming separated from a patrol of Afghan and U.S.-led foreign troops in the Arghandab district of Zabul province on Monday night, Namatullah Tokhi, commander of the government's 27th division in the province, told Reuters.

He said government troops later captured and killed four Taliban guerrillas in the same way. "They cut of their heads with a knife, so when our forces arrested four Taliban, we cut off their heads too."

Capone brings a knife, you bring a gun. They get one of yours, you put 20 in the hospital..

Finally, an eye for an eye!

If my sterile math is correct on this, it's two necks for a neck.

Isn't Ashworth Attorney General Ashcroft's second cousin, twice removed?

That is the only way we could possibly save the US soldier and other hostages that haven't been found yet, if they are still alive. We need to get tough. We don't negotiate, but we could sure send a message with a death penalty on those we are holding. As far as I'm concerned, there is no reason for the US to uphold the Geneva Convention. I say we treat the prisoners we hold like they treat ours. They want to save the lives of others like the beheadings that are the rage right now, the Afghans have got the perfect response.

You guys ever hear that two wrongs don't make a right. Don't want to call barbarians that cut off their enemies heads allies.

The concept that the enemy of my enemy is my friend is what got us into the problem in Afghanistan in the first place. There be a lot of vintage 1980s American weapons out there.

Can we get some Afghans to head up the Iraqi security forces?

I was thinking the same thing.

Bump! Time to thin out Gitmo a little too. 20 criminals killed for every innocent killed sounds good to me.

Don't know.

Beheading seems to be a religious experience over there.

Now that's "justice served." Has The Int'l Red Cross and Amnesty Int'l held press conferences yet to condemn these actions which are in violation of at least a dozen int'l treaties signed by France?
