Former radio talk show host Jon Matthews, a fixture of the Houston broadcast scene for more than a decade, pleaded guilty today to indecency with a child.
Matthews was accused of knowingly and intentionally exposing his genitals to a girl under the age of 17 on Oct. 9. He was not accused of any contact with the girl.
He could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Matthews resigned from KSEV-AM 700 after the allegations surfaced. He had been on the air on Houston radio stations since the mid-1980s, working at KSRR-FM and KPRC-AM before moving to KSEV-AM in March 2001.
I guess there are no nudist camps in Texas.
sad Houston ping
Not to be confused with Chris Mathews. he rules. 950AM. ~2pm houston
This disgusts me. I hope he rots in prison for 10 years.
Uhhh, hold on. I may be confused. There is another mathews. maybe not chris. he's tha msnbc guy. right? I need to go back to bed.
If this were Bill Clinton so charged, he would NOT have resigned nor would he have pleaded guilty. He would have fought the charges so long and so hard that pretty soon the people would think he was "not guilty."

Hippy Hollow, Austin, Texas, USA
Description
Hippie Hollow is a nice hassle-free place to nude sunbathe on the limestone rock ledges near the water, or float in the water on a raft. The ledges are quite rocky, although most are relatively flat and suitable for laying a towel down upon or setting up lawn chairs. The lake water level varies considerably depending on previous rainfall conditions and the water release rate from Mansfield Dam. This affects how far one must climb to get to the water but the climb is never too difficult. The shore line curves a bit and forms several secluded coves.
To date, the clothing-optional status of Hippie Hollow remains intact, though recently local authorities have limited use of the park to those 18 and over. This was reinforced by the result of a legal opinion issued by a previous county attorney which stated that there was no violation of the state lewd-and-lascivious behavior law because signage was able to adequately warn any visitors that nudity may be encountered within the park.
The most recent rounds of improvements were made to the park in 1997. These included upgraded restrooms, drinking fountains and handrails for some of the access stairs. Also, a commercial vendor has contracted with the county to provide a snack service for Hippie Hollow during the warmer months and has located their trailer close to the main entrance to the trail at the top of the main stairs. Unfortunately, because of this location park visitors must dress (just enough to be legal :) to take advantage of this service.
A modest day-use fee more than covers the cost for these amenities, providing a service for the community - and a profit for Travis County. A day's pass will also permit you to visit any other Travis County Park during the same day.
Friendly park rangers patrol the area to ensure that law and order prevail. Any law enforcement seems to be low key. The rangers genuinely wish to be sure that people can come to Hippie Hollow and have a good time.
The park is open year-round. From April to October, the hours are from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The park closes at 7:30pm during the cooler months. There is a $5.00/vehicle day use fee (or $2.00 for walk-in visitors) and no overnight camping is allowed. No glass containers, pets or open fires are permitted in the park. Check the local weather conditions before heading out. For general information about the park call (512) 266-1644.

Would you be referring to Chris Baker in the 2-6pm time slot on 950AM?
I think you mean Chris Baker. I'm sure he takes offense at being confused with the loudmouthed Bush bashing Chris Mathews on hardball.
Jon Matthews has been on radio for decades until the charges happened last year.
Very sad.
yes , chris baker. thanks, i thought i was going nuts for a second.
Just my personal opinion, but this "if it were Bill Clinton" thing has gotten so stale as to be entirely meaningless.
If so I haven't thought of them in a long time... Moby used to have a band called Moby and the Moonband or somesuch... used to do stupid, goofy songs and parodies...
Yes.
Here's the long thread from when he was indicted:

Any idea on the plea bargain?
