Oh, too bad you missed it. It was the unveiling of the Clintons' portraits. Yes, Hillary is depicted wearing a black pantsuit.
President Bush was extremely gracious and presidential. This contrasted nicely when it was Clinton's turn to speak. He declared he felt like a pickle, told what was supposed to be a charming anecdote about a young boy telling him he thought all presidents were dead (Clinton chose to share this tale 3 days after Ronald Reagan was buried), and finally, told of how a cartoonist once portrayed him as the victim of a chainsaw massacre.
It was bizarre, to say the least.
Oh, and when President Bush made a mildly funny reference to Clinton spending 6 months working on the McGovern campaign, that is what sent Clinton into spasms of uncontrolled laughter and his face got purple/red.
Weird.
Oh, I really did miss out! Thanks for the blow by blow report.
I noticed that too! I thought ole Slick was going to bust a gut.
That entire portrait ceremony showed the sharp contrast between President Bush, the statesman....and Clintoon, the bafoon.
