Clinton defends successor's push for war Says Bush 'couldn't responsibly ignore' chance Iraq had WMDs

(CNN) -- Former President Clinton has revealed that he continues to support President Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq but chastised the administration over the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison. "I have repeatedly defended President Bush against the left on Iraq, even though I think he should have waited until the U.N. inspections were over," Clinton said in a Time magazine interview that will hit newsstands Monday, a day before the publication of his book "My Life."

Clinton, who was interviewed Thursday, said he did not believe that Bush went to war in Iraq over oil or for imperialist reasons but out of a genuine belief that large quantities of weapons of mass destruction remained unaccounted for.

Part of the Hitlery in 2008 campaign by the Clintonistas perhaps? Don't bash Bush too much to ensure Kerry goes down in flames to open up 2008 for Kankles.

Clinton has repeatedly lied. He has no credibility with normal, rational people. If he walked into my house to declare that the sun was up, I would have to go outside to confim it. Clinton is mentally ill and deranged. He could write 1,000 books and this would still be the case.

"I have repeatedly defended President Bush against the left on Iraq, even though I think he should have waited until the U.N. inspections were over," Clinton said

The inspections would be going on until 2020. Oil for food. UN had every reason to delay, delay, delay.

the official clinton administration position on Iraq was
also "regime change", and clinton also spoke rather frequently
and matter-of-factly on Saddams WMD. so, in order to defend
himself, he also has to defend the bush administration.

politics, bedfellows, etc.

of course the fact that he doesn't hesitate to stick the
knife in kerry's back in the process is quite telling.

Actually his remarks at the unveiling of his White Houe portrait were the beginning of this line of "attack" on Kerry.

His recollections about spending time with Teddy Roosevelt's portrait during the Bosnia war because Roosevelt was a President who stood firm and carried out unpopular decisions to the end becaue he knew it was the right thing to do were very damaging to Kerry. He was clearly inferring that the war in Iraq was the right thing to do and that President Bush was showing the same type of courage.

Lemme see if I can help you with that...

Implying that the United States should lead by example, Clinton said of the abuses, "No. 1, we can't pull stunts like that, and No. 2, when we do, whoever is responsible has to pay."

So, some idiot putting panties on the head of a prisoner in Iraq is a "stunt" "we can't pull" and for which "whoever is responsible has to pay ".

But a sitting President lying under oath to a Federal judge and the American People from a podium right here in the Good Ol' USA is a "badge of honor."

Feel better now?

"I have repeatedly defended President Bush against the left on Iraq, even though I think he should have waited until the U.N. inspections were over...."

Bubba may as well have said that Dubya should have waited for him to stop humping his office help and start telling the truth. Saddam would happily have played three-WMD-depot Monte with the inspectors until the Last Judgment if it meant that he could hold onto power.

Call Slick what you will but I've heard him voice support for the war and Bush's handling of it many times. Perhaps that's why he isn't getting alot of tv time anymore. :0)

Clinton stuck it to Gore, so he is just finishing the job, and sticking it to Kerry as well... all so his wife will have a chance in 2008... shameless, but hey, for the time being, thanks Willy! lol

neat point.

clinton voices his support for bush and the WOT, and we
don't hear a peep. ronald reagan's son, who disagreed
with everything his poor father said when he was alive,
makes a tacky reference to bush and his religious faith,
and we never hear the end of it.

Get over it.
(I mean that in the nicest possible way)

He knows the intelligence on WMD and he knows that if HE were to deny it, when they're found that is one lie he might not be able to spin his way out of. Better to do this, which he's been doing. He called in to LKL a few months ago saying there were WMD.

Do not think he's saying it for altruistic reasons. It's legacy saving reasons.

Clinton knows that Bush has the goods on Saddam. He's trying to position himself to be on the right side of history.
