India and Pakistan seek detente India and Pakistan are holding a second day of talks aimed at building mutual trust on the issue of nuclear weapons.

After an initial meeting in Delhi on Saturday, the two sides said the talks were cordial and constructive.

A possible ban on further weapons testing, and better nuclear crisis management are under discussion, six years after the two carried out tests.

This weekend's talks will pave the way for a meeting between the countries' foreign secretaries later this month.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry official Tariq Usman Haider later paid a courtesy call on Indian Foreign Minister Natwar Singh.

Damn, that is scary. That's it, I'm votin' for Kerry.

Peace? How can President Bush have anything to do with peace, or negotiations that could save millions of lives in south asia and the world? I thought he was a warmonger!? /double_sarcasm

The only good news is they are on the other side of the earth.

These third worlders and the bomb is scary anyway you look at it.

Can you imagine if al Qaeda got hold of one of Pakistan's nukes? You know they would use it. It would only take a couple of the jihadis to deliver it close enough to do major damage.

Warmonger is right. Violence in Kashmir is at a historic low due to Bush decisions in Afghanistan. He's obviously trying to start a war. Where's Kerry when you need him?

Standing nearby insisting that improved, multilateral relations with the world's largest democracy have no positive bearing on our dismal, unilateralist, hell-bent drive toward global freedom? After all, have those morally clear western Europeans weighed in on the matter yet? Yes, where is Kerry the multipolarist when we need him most! /sarcasm

The pakis are just a bunch of super crooks.

they created, supported and sustained al qaeda.

Musharraf himself supported the taliban till the US threatened him with war in the aftermath of 911.

Pakistan should have been taken out along with the taliban, since the taliban were merely puppets run by paki intelligence, but somehow the pakis crooked their way out of it.

Next came pakistani proliferation to iran, libya and north korea, well they crooked their way out of that one as well.

However what surprises me the most is how could pakistan bluff india, when India has been attacked by pakistan three times, when For almost 5 decades pakistan has waged a terror against india, when pakistan has assasinated 2 indian prime ministers.

pakistan is using peace with india just to prevent india from capitalizing on Pakistan's ties to terror and proliferation

I don't know how india would take the bait after 5 decades of betrayals and bluffs by pakistan.

When they know that musharraf was the guy, who sent pakistani extremists into kargil and then sacked the prime minister in a coup after he called the militants back.

How can one be blinded by crooks who have such a long history of bluffs.

it was a historic opportunity to have coupled american air power with indian ground troops to have taken out the creators of al qaeda and the taliban, and the only islamic nation with nukes.

what can be more scary than to see the creators of the taliban and al qaeda arm themselves with a mobile fleet of nukes.

Now does that endanger or help world peace to see such an irresponsible nation, father to more than 2 dozen terror movements around the world arm itself with nukes.

yeah right we should appreciate pakistani efforts that nabbed 2 terrorists, while they replace those 2 dead terrorists with 60+ nuclear missiles. lol

what a freaking bluff.

All india has to to do is to go back to 1971 to see if they can trust these paki crooks.

In 1971, pakistan was humbled after india conquered more than half of pakistan.

In a desperate attempt to save the rest of the country, pakistan called for truce and signed a written declaration with india that kashmir would be addressed outside the UN in bilateral talks between Pakistan and india.

However by the 80's, Pakistan had recovered from that war and was again sending militants into india, killing thousands, blowing planes out their skies, assasinating indian leaders.

Today, pakistan is more precarious than even when it was in 1971.

It's ties to al qaeda and nuclear proliferation are no
secret.

India can capitalize on this and couple indian ground forces with american air power to put a decisive end to the greatest islamic terror and nuclear threat

or india can let Pakistan wriggle out of it and be ravaged again

Can you imagine if al Qaeda got hold of one of Pakistan's nukes?

Exactly. That's why we must eliminate them
