Jim DeMint and David Beasley will square-off Monday afternoon (6/21/2004) in a live on-air radio debate in Columbia, SC. The hotly contested runoff for the key Senate seat being vacated by Fritz Hollings has sparked heated tit-for-tats among backers of the former Democrat and SC Govenor David Beasley, and backers of the core conservative runnerup in the primary Jim DeMint. Other true Republican candidates in the primary have thrown their support in the DeMint camp leading many to believe the winner of the primary, the liberal convert Beasley, is in trouble ...

Beasley won 36% of the vote in the primary with the balance (64%) going to DeMint, Ravenel and Condon. Ravenel and Condon have both since thrown in with the DeMint camp giving the primary runner-up (DeMint) the solid lead if supporters remain true to their party and candidates' conservative philospophies.

Monday's debate will be heard on WVOC 560 AM Radio in Columbia, South Carolina. It will feature two candidates bent on replacing Fritz Hollings, a long time leftist stalwart who will campaign in favor of his hand-picked liberal successor Inez "Pelosi" Tannebaum. .
Kevin Cohen will moderate. 3:PM on WVOC 560 AM, W-the-Voice-Of-Columbia,sc.

I think Jim DeMint is a proven Conservative, and he deserves to be elected to the United States Senate. He is also endorsed by the Club for Growth, an excellent club that replaces RINOs with true Conservatives.

DeMint is running against two dems. One, Beasley, happens to be in the primary against him.

Inez has no chance against either of them.

With Condon backing DeMint, I predict a 55-45 win for DeMint.

DeMint will do better against Inez Pelosi, errrrrr Tannebaum. JD will carry 100% of the Republican vote in Sc and that will win the Senate seat. Beasly would carry 36% of the conservative vote and the rest would hold their noses and vote for Inez, or abstain completely, just to keep from having to vote for Sleazy Weazely David Beasley.
