Welcome to FreeRepublic, DLK. This place is full of great folks many who are experts on our wonderful country. I like to think it is a reflection of President Reagan's Shining City on a Hill.

I met with our family for a Father's day lunch this afternoon. My 12 year old niece and I had a long discussion about Kerry vs. Bush and Liberalism/Communism vs. Conservatism after she asked me if I thought Kerry would win. She mentioned she and her friends like to debate politics and that most of them are Republicans. I believe this bodes well for the future.

Kitkat, at The Federalist is a listing called the Patriot's Library. There is a section for children with titles listed by age group. I'm sure some of the adult books would be appropriate for him and the descriptions should help you pick those out. Also, The Federalist newsletter would be excellent reading for your whole family. You can download HTML or Adobe versions of current and archived issues or have them emailed to you, free. Your privacy will be protected--they do not share your information for any reason. Their work is completely funded through individual's donations.

Another good resource I should have included in my previous post: American Vision.

I don't, but I was just today thinking that we needed an internet resource that explains why our founding fathers were great, then provides links to reinforcement of those thoughts, so school-kids could read about our founding fathers the facts that back up what we said. At least our kids would have a place to go to find out more about them.

You won't find a more anti-NEA individual than myself. What's going on in our schools borders criminal activity IMO. It's subversive, and is in my opinion sedition (although I'll freely admit I dont' know the exact qualification for this charge). I just know that what they are doing is about as wrong as it can be.

Of course you are joking about this. Our pubic (misspelling intentional) schools really wouldn't downplay the Founding Fathers in favor of a guilt trip.
