First off. Bush doesn't get a boost from McCain.

Oh yes he does.

McCain's out-front support covers a multitude of sins, and shuts up the media.

What's more, McCain is sincere about his support. He knows where his bread is buttered, and where his future lies.

This was a very good day for GWB.

"McCain's out-front support covers a multitude of sins, and shuts up the media."

That's why I called it a rope a dope. You don't believe this was McCain's idea. McCain silences the talk about a VP spot while McCain throws his weight behind his bread and butter, because he benefits, and President Bush gets a temporary bounce in the polls while Kerry eats crow. All of this plans designed ahead of time.

That's what I meant.

This was a very good day for GWB.

And not just for the McCain endorsement. The Vladimir Putin news from today makes every single "Bush lied to take us to war" story look stupid and childish.
