Just got through watching NBC'S Dateline with the segment on Ron Reagan. He was being interviewed by Chris Matthews. Ron will be on again on Monday with Matthews on Hardball. Anyone see the show and if so what are your thoughts?
He certainly made no secret that he does not like President George W. Bush and even more does not like religion to be a part of anything. He did say that he thought W. used Religion to make his case for the War in Iraq and frankly I don't remember that ever coming into the equation. He also felt his Father would not have done the things W. has in this War on Terror and I really disagree with that assessment.
All in all I have very ambivalent feeling about him but really hesitate to say anything derogatory at a time like this.
I will say that people like Chris Matthews, Stone Phillips and others are really taken with Ron and I have said this before, but these people come across like they have some kind of school girl crush on the guy and if he doesn't ask one of them to the Prom they are just going to have a fit.
of course, they play up ron because they are opportunists. everybody knows his family had issues. anyway i would be more interested in patti davis's opines than ron's.
I have no compunctions whatsoever.
I think we all loved Ronald Reagan, but he raised a defective son and I think his embarrassment continues even in his death.
Swan Flake used his eulogy of his father to take a swipe at W. He's shameless.
They'd better catheterize Chrissy, if they don't want a mess to clean up.
Ron Reagan is a shameless fop. Chris Matthews is a drooling shameless democrat shill who talks twice as fast as he thinks. I heard that Ron was essentially a no-show son until the illness was diagnosed. He should stick to dog shows.
Didn't Pres. Reagan coerce Ron into marrying his current wife? There are no biological grandchildren for Ronald W.Reagan and that is sad, but he did have the adopted daughter of Maureen plus Michael's children so they probably were a joy to him.

Does Dateline have an agenda? Such a tough question.
Frankly, you are correct. Heck, if you think back, you can remember all the people right here on this forum that were furious because Bush didn't MAKE it a religious war.
He also felt his Father would not have done the things W. has in this War on Terror
He has no way of knowing how Reagan would have reacted since Reagan wasn't confronted with a situation anything close to what happened on Bush's watch; for all he knows, his father might have nuked them.
Ron Reagan is Michael Berg, in reverse.
I don't think so. On a biography of RR, Ron, Jr. stated that, as a teen, he stated that he was not going to church anymore, and his father did not force him into going.
Prescott needs a couple of cucumber slices on his eyes.
How long before Jacque Kerreee calls Ron?
Ron's new notoriety could land him dancing roles. Is there any upcoming production that needs a TINKERBELL?
I was planning on watching Dateline (it hasn't aired here yet), but just decided "no".
HGTV for me.
(I've followed the Ron Reagan saga and saw clips on Hardball and probably will watch Monday's show, but knowing Michael Moore is on tonight is it--I will not do it)
Obviously Mr. Reagan wasn't around much when these kids were growing up . I love Nancy for loving Mr. Reagan , but no doubt it was her influence and lack of his that made Ron and Patty what they have become . Flamesuit on !
Ron Reagan on NBC's Dateline
I guess Michael Reagan was too busy.
