We've had "meteor the size of a house" and "meteor hits house in New Zeland" plus articles about big meteors hitting Siberia (2002) in the last few days. I've bumped into articles about a 2001 meteor over southern India (Kerala) that exploded and then rained down "red rain" that was identified as unknown biological organisms (no DNA) (http://www.sciscoop.com/story/2004/5/1/92822/77787).
Are we in the middle of a stellar shooting gallery?
These things seem to have happened before. That's what has led to the theories about "nemesis" and other periodicic triggers. I think it may be related to the fact that we've only recently passed through the plane of the galaxy and that this is timed right to synch up with the major dinosaur killers.
