All the major cable news networks carried the speech

That's what I said. My point is, only about 5-6 million watch cable news. 50-60 million get their news from the 3 major networks. Excluding radio, coverage only on the cable news channels is minimal, at best.

Wrong. Latest Nielsen shows only 25-28 million get their news from evening network broadcasts.

I'm not concerned about the relatively low numbers of people who see this speech and others.

The campaign won't really start until after the conventions. There will be plenty of coverage then. Dubya will have even more good news to talk about, and Kerry will still be an a-hole.

I've heard Bill Bennett and others allude to Osama bin Laden's Strong horse - weak horse line, where people back the strong horse. Dubya is clearly the strong horse. However, Kerry LOOKS like a horse -- does that count?

You might feel better if you think of like this: Today is the 1st day of the rest of the campaign.

Now that the "dopes are roped" through the brilliant strategery of "misunderestimation" it's now become time to start the "real" fight.

Bush was great today, he even took the NY Times on directly.

Last night Cheney did the same thing.

Don't forget no matter what the lamestream media does our guys still have the biggest bully pulpit. IMHO Bush will win this fight.
