Great point about Harold Ford - he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. Articulate, southern, very non-threatening personality. A minority who talks like a conservative, but votes liberal. Very difficult to beat.

He won't accept it, but if I was Kerry I would try to get PA governor Ed Rendell as my running mate. Popular swing state governor who has a per4sonality 180 degree opposite of Kerry. However, IMHO Rendell smells a loser in Ketchup boy, and wants to be positioned to take advantage should the Beast fall through in '08.

I can't stand him, but Fast Eddie is one of those rare 'Rats that comes across as an average guy rather than a pompous elitist. He even got Pubbies voting for him in his Gov race against Mike Fisher, I think largely on his personality and charisma.

Interesting point about Rendell..but you'd figure he's the type who'd jump at the chance for the VP spot, because he has nothing to lose, and it greatly increases his public profile..Ford is a really interesting guy..he's also taken a very low profile the last few months...he was a big Kerry supporter early on..now, it's like he's backing away..his problem is, he's stymied..stuck...will he risk his seat to take on Frist for the senate..it's not a lock...and I don't think he could get elected Governor..yet he's stuck in the House, in the "moronity"...which can't be fun....want a long shot....a very long shot...if Dems implode in '04, and drop several seats i the Senate..well, could Harold change parties, in return for an open invite to Frist's senate seat?
