NBC | June 17, 2004 | Hildy

Posted on 06/17/2004 6:21:16 PM PDT by Hildy

Jsut saw a promo..to paraphrase..."his remarks at his Father's funeral have set off a controversy...." Is there ANYONE the media will not exploit to further their cause and bash Bush?

I am familiar with that concept. One would be hard pressed to say that would apply to Ron P. Reagan.

She does look quite a bit like Jane Wyman,
but I am certain Michael stated on radio
that they were both adopted.

IF I am wrong, I will LMAO!

I see no evidence Ron Reagan ever sought to follow in his father's footsteps.

He sure doesn't seem to mind using his father to make a buck, does he?

It was his dream to serve overseas, but his bad eyesight prevented it, so he worked in the film industry making war films.

I heard that he actually lied about having decent eyesight just to get in to the military.

Compare this to bill clinton's letter to the draft board.

I NEVER said rpr was the eldest child, just the oldest son of rwr and nancy

It is incorrect grammer to use the superlative degree of comparison when a set contains less than three members. Since Ronald and Nancy Reagan only had two children, it would be incorrect to say Patti is the oldest or Ronald Prescott is the oldest son, etc. Patti is the older, and Ronald Prescott is the younger.

Got this from: http://www.virtualology.com/uspresidents/ronaldwreagan.net/ <> Also, heard on a couple documentaries and my mom who is the source of all sources for this kind of stuff that she is the natural born daughter of Jane and Ronald.

"But for him to call George Bush a big elephant and ask what's his accomplishments, that he's no longer an obnoxious drunk says a lot about a person."

To me it reads like Ron knew him when. I recall some folks like that in my family's circle.

I don't know about eyeglasses, but he had some vision problem. Maybe he wore contacts later, seems like Nancy did as well.

Yes, I read a lot about RR last week, and will be looking for some of his books soon. Had never really read much about him before. And am finding him to be a fascinating figure now. (Now that he's gone, sadly...)

Reagan married his wife, Nancy, fours years after his divorce from the screen actress Jane Wyman. The children from his first marriage are Maureen, his daughter by Wyman, and Michael, an adopted son. He had two children by Nancy: Patricia and Ron.

Maureen was not adopted.

According to the book Michael wrote sixteen years ago, Jane Wyman barely survived giving birth to Maureen. That's why they adopted Michael.

Do you even have a clue what kind of "Republican" Ronald Reagan was? Taxes? Deficits? Compromises?
that was your comment to another freeper, I felt you were the one bashing Reagan. So I responded to that above comment. If you have ever listened to Rush Limbaugh, he calls liberals posing as regular joes who are conservatives, seminar callers. What is sad, is that I have a right to interpret your above statement about Reagan to be that you were not or are not too crazy about the guy.

To sneer at Bush and the rest of us as not being Reagan Republican just shows your ignorance as to what exactly went on during the Reagan administration. Secondly, to respond to your second statement, listed above... I was 9 when Reagan was elected into office. I sent him 2 bags of Jelly beans for Easter one year. I have listened to Rush Limbaugh since I was 12 years old. I frequent many political websites to keep as informed as I can. I am married to a wonderful man who recently retired from the United States Air Force after a bit over 23 YEARS in the USAF. One of the things that we love to do is discus politics. Do I know as much as he? No, mostly because he is 9 years my senior. Do I know more than most women? You bet I do. I think it's sad that other than today, and one other day, in April, I believe, I have not posted on this website, and to go and review my posting history and tell me that because of that I have no real knowledge and need a lot of book learning, (see your last comment to me at the right>>> ) And quite frankly, I'm not surprised you're surprised at my post; I just reviewed your posting history and you seem to have a lot of "book learning" but no real knowledge of the world.
is just plan uncalled for. Would you like to read my list of recently read books? I'll just list three that I've read since for some bizarre reason you and one other poster are incredibly sensitive and feel it necessary to pick on me. I'm not posting my thoughts or learned knowledge in a haugty way, I was only sharing my thoughts and learned knowledge. (did you notice the smiley faces in my posts, to epict a sense of playfulness so nothing would be taken the wrong way?) Okay,I have read... Ann Coulter's TREASON....Sean Hannity's DELIVER US FROM EVIL...The Autobiography of RONALD REAGAN (An American Life).. Please, don't get mean and tell me I need book learning, don't also use the fact that I only recently 'joined' and started posting against me, you started at one time, did you get ripped for that, like you are ripping me? We all have to start somewhere. I think it's great that you have been here for six years, and think that you have forgotten more than I have known in one second. What I am surprised by is not so much your post, but what you are saying to me now. It's very personal, and hurtful... did I know you in my past? I'm pretty sure I didn't. So since I didn't know you, and don't know you, I think that you should act like you have been a FREEPER for six years and not get mean and personal on a post that was not sent to me in private. If you would like to reprimand and demean me, do it in private, have enough respect for me as a fellow Republican (registered, that is) and a fellow American, and a former USAF veteran to not slam me in front of all our fellow Freepers, and if you feel I have no real knowledge of the real world, then send a private post and teach me something. But after the way that you have treated me tonight, if that is how the real world is, than I would rather be ignorant.
Thanks for making me feel welcome, thanks for making me feel like something that I studied for so long, is basically crap, and thanks for making me feel like what I know and believe isn't good enough for you, and oh, thanks for making me feel like *!#@!
After this, I will never post again, because if you are what repersents a FREEPER, and onyx is included, I want nothing to do with this...
How sad, I say what I know and I get JUMPED on, and you and onyx can say what you want and no one slams you, like the two of you did me... pretty crappy... If I'm the only one who thinks this, please, send me a post, if not... let me know too, also, if how I am being spoken to by you and Onyx is normal, let me know and I'll politely bow out. I am in total disbelief at how mean the two of you have treated me. NOTHING I said was mean, and if you would have given me the opportunity to become a productive part of this community, you would have learned that, and would have been pleasantly surprised.
Thanks, you guys made my night a real treat.

dang, they let lawyers on a jury?

I'm not a lawyer, but I've been summoned for later in the year and I was pretty sure that they'd find a way (or maybe that should be I'd find a way) to not wind up on a jury.

I guess technically, ronnarooni is the oldest and the youngest son since he is the only biological son. That being said, Michael is RWR's real son in intelligence, personality and just plain good sense.

Is Michael Reagan the only one of the Ronald Reagans children to have children of his own?

Maybe someone should provide us all with the "proper" eulogy for your father, the President.

A eulogy is not the place to make the kind of sneering attack that Ron made against President Bush. I don't care whose eulogy it is. If Ronald Wilson Reagan had not been President of the United States, Ron Prescott Reagan would not have had live coast to coast video coverage of his remarks. Ron Prescott has never achieved anything in his own right. He gets press coverage, because while he is the son of President Reagan, he publicly disavows everything President Reagan stood for.
