" It's amazing the vitriol against Pat started on the day he decided to run against W."

Actually, it pretty much started when Pat, in his job at Reagan's admin, engineered the fiasco that came to simply be called "Bitburg". He was forced out shortly after that testament to his lack of intellect, and most of us hoped he'd simply go away. His ego, however, apparently mutated by radiation, re-generated.

And just LOOK what it did!

You're pretty late to the party if you think this dates to when he ran against the President. You DO remember that he also did all he could to toss the 1992 election to Slick, don't you? Back to Mark School for you!

The Germans insisted on it and Reagan thought it was the right thing to do. Something about SS troopers being buried there as I remember. Is there a cementary in Germany without SS troopers being buried there?

So, according to your logic, Pat was responsible for the tax cut.

Not true. After the convention Pat bowed out. Geo lost it all by himself. Dole lost his by himself. W damned near lost his, in what should have been a landslide.

The GOP was highjacked by the 'corner' and many 'conservatives' wouldn't be part of it. The 'right' was and is being bashed out of the party. I don't know, but I hope W makes it again this time around despite his micky mousing around with the liberals.

I thought Mike Deaver was responsible for Bitburg.
