June 17, 2004 -- Popular Republican Sen. John McCain is hitting the campaign trail to boost President Bush tomorrow — just days after spurning a personal plea from Democrat John Kerry to be his vice presidential running mate. McCain, a Vietnam POW hero, will join Bush in speaking to troops at Fort Lewis in Washington state — then fly with the president to Reno, Nev., where McCain introduces the president at a Bush-Cheney rally.

"Of course [McCain] is supporting President Bush. He's already campaigned for him and he's a co-chairman of the Bush campaign in Arizona," said McCain senior strategist Mark Salter.

"In Fort Lewis, they're going to meet with the troops and the wounded and have lunch with the troops together."

He said the Bush campaign first proposed the high-profile joint campaign swing a week or two ago and the schedule was being firmed up yesterday.

McCain will always pander to the blue media for his own glorification, but in the end he will support Bush.

Yup. And that is why he signed on to help Bush. To bring Democrats over. Not Liberals.

I thnk he usually campaigns hard for the GOP. He was here in NJ helping Forrester beat the Torch. Didn't work out in the end, but no fault of Forrester's or McCains. Actually, McCain probably comes in handy in blue states or near blue states.

Its not like you are alone my friend.

Next up is the insane "theory" that Hillary Clinton will "seize the DNC nomination" in a floor fight with Kerry.

I'm still laughing at those posters that bet the farm on that one....
