There is no way that boy can be the fruit of Ron Reagans loins.
This woman needs to have my children.
Under normal circumstances, stem cells are rarely seen in the blood stream. To recruit enough stem cells into the blood, stem cells are lured out of the bone marrow by a special regimen of drugs and coaxed into entering the peripheral blood (the blood stream).
The blood is filtered through a machine and the stem cells are skimmed off. The removal of the cells is termed pheresis or apheresis (from the Greek "aphairesis" for removal). The stem cells then may be used right away for bone marrow transplant or stored in liquid nitrogen until needed.

The cells, neural stem cells, are primitive cells that generate the peripheral nervous system.
"We know that stem cells exist in the adult central nervous system. But this is the first indication that they also remain in the peripheral nervous system -- not only after birth, but into adult life," says study author Dr. Sean J. Morrison, U-M Medical School assistant professor of internal medicine and of cell and developmental biology.
In early embryos, the central and peripheral nervous systems develop in different locations, Morrison says. The central nervous system's brain and spinal cord develop in one area.
In another area called the neural crest, stem cells generate peripheral neurons and glial cells responsible for gut function, sense of touch, and the flight-or-fight response, Morrison says.
"We don't know what these neural crest stem cells are doing in the gut or whether they persist into adult life in humans, as they do in rats. The importance of the study is that it provides the first evidence that stem cells persist in the adult peripheral nervous system. Our results will lead to additional research, which could lead to new ways of using stem cells to promote peripheral nervous system repair after injury or disease," Morrison says.

It's not like no one is studying stem cell research. It's just another cause celeb that liberals are trying to make an issue of for a campaign they are losing. It's just that President Bush is not going to allow the government to use TAXPAYER'S HARD EARNED MONEY to study something that over 60% of the people are against (using unborn children of abortions). The liberal partisan media is pushing it because they think it will win with voters because they have no clue what middle (flyover country) Americans think about anything per their ratings.
I'll correct your typo for you:
There is no way that fruit can be the boy of Ron Reagans loins.
Ann's to hyper to be a mother.
The sad part the child most like Reagan was Maureen. Unfortunately she died of Cancer 3 years ago.
The Alzheimer Assoc. issued a statement that they were not seeking expanded research in stem cell treatment.
Even better. We'd be like bunnies. 2 lanky, blond, ultraconservative sex bunnies.

Thanks for posting
That's true. The arguments go both ways. If the village is starving should you kill the young to save foodstores?
I don't understand how the greatness of Ronaldus Maximus is at all dependent on our knowing that Ann thinks the NYT publisher is a little weenie.
Like Ann, I wonder - why you and other pubbies don't start a non profit foundation and PRIVATELY DONATE YOUR OWN MONEY!!!!!
This is the ultimate putting of thy own monies where thine mouth lies.
If there were such promise in the harvesting of fetal stem cells you could bet there would be an avalanche of funds. All the libs could have a great big concert. Michael Jackson could sing 'we are the world.....we harvest the children'. If that's not disgusting enough, they could all contribute their own fertilized embryos and throw another party as each one is loaded onto a petri dish for further experimentation.... They'll probably come up with all kinds of marketing gimmicks to attract donors of all stripes. Come on don't tell me they aren't able to do this without my tax dollars!!!!
The democrats and the media opposed Reagan identically to the way they are opposing Bush today. And with the same vehemence. I remember it well.
They will of course NEVER admit they were wrong and he was right, particularly about the Soviet thing. Just like 20 years from now they will never admit they were wrong and Bush was right about the Iraq war and the terrorist thing.
Reagan sparked and inspired a revolution which continues today and will continue for years to come.
Every "expert" that I've heard lately says that it is extremely unlikely that embroynic stem cells will ever "cure" Alzheimers.
"Someone persuaded poor, dear Nancy Reagan that research on human embryos might have saved her Ronnie from Alzheimer's. Now the rest of us are supposed to shut up because the wife of America's greatest president (oh, save your breath, girls!) supports stem-cell research.
Ironically, the always market-oriented Ronald Reagan would probably have asked his wife, "Honey, if embryonic stem-cell therapy is such a treasure trove of medical advances, why isn't private research and development funding flocking to it?"
My father had parkensons. He died in 1992. I know without a doubt that had someone said, hey, we can inject fetal tissue into your spinal column and cure you, he would have told them to shove off.
