The singer who brought us Nipplegate feels that she’s the victim of “a plot by conservative forces” in the U.S. according to the Sunday Express of London. “I was used just to take the attention off what was really going on in the world,” Jackson told the paper. “A lot of things that actually happened, the after-effects, all that was already on the desk but everyone’s trying to point the finger, ‘See what you did, see what you did.’ I didn’t do anything. It was going to happen at some point with someone, it just so happened to be me. They made something out of nothing. ... Everybody’s got their underwear in a knot in America.”

So much for the canard that controversy sells records -- Janet Jackson's new album has tanked, and it's at #55 on the Billboard album chart after only 10 weeks.

Where's Justin Timberlake? He got off pretty easy but it seems he's now dangerously skirting the category of 'has been'

I was disappointed that few people (outside FR, of course!) consider him as sleazy as they regard Janet for this stupidity.

I agree, especially since entertainment reporter Pat O'Brien interviewed him right after the halftime show, and Timberlake bragged about what he did, saying it was "quick, slick, and to the point." It was only when he heard about how many people were outraged by it that he claimed it was a "wardrobe malfunction."

This time, we'll have to set our sights on a lower objective than breasts...

Maybe the college president who yesterday claimed that the C-word is a term of endearment might just take you up on your offer and blame it on the VRWC for blowing her comment out of proportion.
