I don't however think Nunn is going to sellout a lifetime of credibility to be on the ticket Despite all the coy pretensions, has anyone ever really turned down an offer to be the VP candidate? Nunn used to have presidential ambitions. He could see this as his last best chance.

The only thing this accomplishes for Kerry is making sure that his VP choice will not outshine him in terms of telegenic personality. I like Nunn - but he's a real dud as a campaigner. Kerry does have to worry about the contrast between himself and someone like Edwards - but with Nunn, or Wis. Gov. Doyle - there would be no contrast and no upstaging. Still a losing concept. I think a Gephardt or Bill Richards maneuver is much wiser for Kerry.

You could be right. Then again if he still had Presidential ambitions we most likely would have seen him in the primaries.
