Kerry seems like such a wuss, would he really chance his biggest moment so far with announcing his VP pick against clinton's bookgasm? How embarrassing it would be, pick a VP and nobody notices?

A radio report yesterday said that the unions are insisting Kerry pick Gephardt. Apparently the unions love Geppy and vow the only way they can convince their members to back Kerry (because they're not too excited about PePe), is to put Geppy on the ticket.

Do you think Harold Ford would accept?

Wanted to make sure you saw this Peggy Noonan story.

What I saw at the funeral, part 2.

Peggy's account made me cry like baby, mainly because I realized as I read that so much of the wonderful part of America that included President Reagan has also died, yet so much good remains, evidenced in her description of the mourners and the Reagan's friends.

I think he would undoubtedly accept. But someone on another thread said he's too young by 4 months. So maybe he's out. Frankly, I hope so. Kerry/Ford would scare me.

Good morning, everyone. I usually lurk, but wanted to check in today and share with you that my daughter and I were able to meet Laura Bush this morning. She was in Cleveland for a rally for W.

Last night I got a call from one of the campaign staffers in Ohio who told me that we were on the list for a photo op with the First Lady. We stood in line for almost two hours before seeing her.

She looked fabulous wearing a pretty mint green pant suit and was very kind and gracious. She shook hands with both of us and used our names when she spoke with us.

After, she was introduced by Hope Taft and did a great job talking about the President and his accomplishments. The crowd wasn't huge, but we were loud. Lots of "W is for Women" signs.

No pictures yet, but I'll post when it's available.

Have a great day!

I pardoned Marc Rich because I could...
I stole White House treasures because I could...

Not only do we have to put up with the Clintons ad infinitum this month, but we get to revisit his old friends too. No doubt we will see Laney Davis, DeeDee Myers, Anne Lewis et al making the talk show rounds.

I think Larry King wet his pants the other night, just thinking and talking about Billy coming on his show next Thursday night (Live and with your phone calls!!). And to think that Chelsea will jump on the bandwagon and get married is almost too much (although if she gets married in San Francisco, I am not sure how a cobbler will go over, lol).

This is all way too much for me to handle.

Director Harry Thomason and Susan McDougal arrive at the New York premiere of 'The Hunting of the President,' Wednesday, June 16, 2004. The film, which claims to expose ``the 10-year campaign to destroy Bill Clinton (news - web sites),'' is a 90-minute documentary which re-creates interviews conducted for the best-selling book of the same name by Joe Conason and Gene Lyons. McDougal, who went to jail rather than cooperate with Whitewater prosecutor Kenneth Starr, plays a large part in the film. (AP Photo/Diane Bondareff)

I'd heard that the unions were going to force Kerry to pick the browless, spineless Gephardt, and that it essentially was a done deal. When I lived in St. Louis, Geppy was almost a conservative (he wasn't my congresscritter). He sure was whipped into shape in a hurry by the Demo honchos.

McDougal, who went to jail rather than cooperate with Whitewater prosecutor Kenneth Starr ...

Wouldn't you love to know what that cost Clinton? Let's see, how much was Webb Hubbell paid for his incarcerated silence? Wasn't it a few hundred thousand dollars in do-nothing consulting contracts from FOBs?

he's too young by 4 months

But that's just one of those silly rules thingys, dems would just ignore it. :-)

My gut is telling me Kerry wouldn't pick a person of color, he always looks very uncomfortable when he's around people of color. Rarely do I ever see a black or brown face associated with his campaign.

But you're right, a Ford pick would be a media party and might just even knock clinton out of the news.

I bet the Heinz-Kerry's have several such employees - gardeners, poolboys, cleaning women, etc.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ZACHERY...How exciting that you are getting a new house...the last I heard you were disappointed because of the WalMart thingie...the best time to build a house is when you are young (we did a kitchen remodel three years ago and we are still traumatized when we think of it, lol)...and kids need a big yard and house. Is it possible you could car pool for the kids school? And also if you are moving to a growing community, it is possible that within five years a school will crop up closer to home.

At an AFL-CIO meeting this week everyone sitting on the dais as Kerry spoke was a white person. The people standing in single file behind (they appeared to be waiters and chefs) him were the only one's I could see that were of color.

I seen smaller picket fences.

Paraphrasing Dana Carvey on David Letterman on Effin': Where did they get this guy? He's a freakshow. An auotmaton, fully 29% pure basset hound, never seen a human with such a canine face.

Freakshow,,, where have we heard that before? ;-)
