"It does however, give an indication as to why it was so easy for the Nazi's to get them willingly loaded into cattle cars for the trip to the concentration camps...."
"Remarks like the above offer a good justification for such fear of Christians as may exist among Jews."
You make my point....instead of fearing the very people that wanted them in the cattle cars, we get hit with "how dare you point out the obvious". That mindset is what allowed the Holocaust to occur, in my opinion.

After the events of the last century, I just shake my head in disbelief whenever I read of someone of the Jewish faith against firearm ownership.
Have they forgotten the lesson's of Warsaw?

Have they forgotten the lessons of Warsaw? Many have. .....And others never learned the lesson in the first place.

Most of mine are like that, too! My dad and I are pretty much the only smart, sane ones of the bunch. Paradigm shifts don't come by changing the minds of old, but by winning the minds of the young.

What mindset, Badeye?
I don't find much parallel between the US and Nazi Germany.

It is true that a good number of Jews do hate Christians,my brother-in-law is an anti Christian born again Zionist zealot. My husband's brother was and is so anti Christian that he starts complaining about anything Christian, especially born again Christians, and Christian music. He turns the radio off if it is playing Christmas music. You have to watch very carefully for the Christian haters because they are not covered by the media. They file lawsuits and work for the ACLU systemically trying to destroy Christian values in America. They are out there, and the numbers continue to grow albeit not in huge numbers.

He turns the radio off if it is playing Christmas music. I don't choose to listen to Christmas music either. Doesn't make me a "Christian hater".

"They file lawsuits and work for the ACLU systemically trying to destroy Christian values in America. They are out there, and the numbers continue to grow albeit not in huge numbers." Sounds like the historically popular Jewish conspiracy.
I have many Jewish friends and acquaintances, not once have I run across a "Christian hater," although fear of Christians is not unheard of. OTOH, Jew haters seem fairly numerous.
Incidentally, Jewish values and Christian values are pretty much the same, with the exception of the method of salvation. Not surprising, considering the closely related origins of both religions.

It's not exactly so. There is a growing shift between American Jews - especially the Orthodox - toward the Republican Party.
I am a registered Democrat. I will be voting for Bush - no doubt. The reason, however, I didn't switch to the Republican Party is in order to be able to vote in the past primary election for anyone but Dean. (remember him?...)

Unfortunatly many American Jews DESPISE Christians That's not one of the brightest things ever said on FR, nor is it true. However, it *does* tend to encourage animosity toward Jews.Consider the possibility that's why it was said.

Yes, it does and is.
Samantha, your husbands brother is an *sshole. Get over it. Lots of families have jerks in them. Projecting your feelings about your families black sheep on the Jewish community isnt particularly attractive.

"American Jews largely fear the idea that, according to some Christians, Jews will go to hell for their rejection of Jesus." This happened to me as a child. I was lured to a neighbors house for a "youth group" and as soon as they found out I was Jewish...things went sour. Situations like this do nothing to strengthen the ties between our two religions.

Your remarks are right on. I teach hebrew at a local temple here in Southern California and I'm convinced that I might be the only one supporting Bush. It really makes no sense. I liked your profile page by the way, Shalom

It might be too much of a shock, but what about some of David Horowitz's material at FrontPage, and his books? He certainly started out on the Left, then saw the error of his ways.

Yes, the thought did cross my mind...but I wanted to give him/her the benefit of the doubt.
