Does anyone know of any tapes or dvds being marketed of any of the Reagan funeral week events?
c-span has them. Standby for link.
Way too much. Freepmail me.
I would have posted your info, but I wasn't sure you were taking anymore.
BTW, a check is on the way to you.
Yes. The DVD was out in China the next day (which was actually the same day since they are a date ahead of us).
This doesn't exactly answer your question, but the services are available on the White House website. There's actually an entire section devoted to Reagan... includes interviews with people who worked in the White House under Reagan:

The pastry chef said in an interview that he was able to make Reagan all of his favorite dishes only when Nancy was away. LOL.
Thanks!
Thank you.
I'm probably the only one--and I know this is a mite peculiar--but I wish there was some way to get at least some of the footage of the public viewing the coffin in the Rotunda. For those hours, I just kind of left the TV on C-SPAN and had that on in the background. It was somehow comforting.
ktw, do you have any of that on your compilations? I know nobody in their right mind would have all of it--it would take many DVDs just for that--but a sample of it would be nice to have.
This compilation video contains the complete coverage of the major events of the Reagan funeral. Included is procession to the U.S. Capitol, the State Ceremony in the Capitol, the National Ceremony and the interment ceremony in California. The video is available on one DVD or two VHS tapes. All ceremonies are as aired on C-SPAN.
I know what you mean. I had some of the streaming video of the California viewing on my computer (not saved, streamed) the day it happened. There was no narration, just the shuffling of feet, the silence made it is an interesting thing to watch/hear.
I agree. I watched the lines filing in and the people along the procession routes for hours. It made me feel better that people were out honoring him and thanking Nancy.
I taped over 9 hours of ceremonies and processions, and it is now boxed and will be on its way to Bagram tomorrow.
Anybody in Afghanistan who wants to see it, check with Bagram in a few weeks.
guaranteed, these DVDs of the funeral will be pirated and appear on several dvd newsgroups in the next few days. Right now the dvd 'Ronald Reagan-An American Crusade- DVD#1' is in the newsgroup alt.binaries.documentaries.
CSpan has them, but I was disappointed (at least with the online video) that the funeral at the National Cathederal starts when the casket arrives. It misses the music, etc. before that.
That's what I was afraid of. The music adds such impact. Also, in the rotunda, Major Garrett of Foxnews compiled a wonderful piece which showed Marine Corporal Wright, who lost both hands in Iraq, at the moment he saluted President Reagan's casket. Garrett's narrative called it "A salute of the ages", as the camera paused on Cpl. Wright.
It's moments like that give the event such impact and meaning. I'm waiting for Foxnews to produce something and I keep emailing them to that effect.

I made 4 dvd's from the video I taped then edited of the week's events. A set for me and one for my daughter. I'm not selling copies.
I'm surprised more people didn't just do what I did.
