Sen. John Kerry is still on the American taxpayers' dole for a job he refuses to do, and his state's lieutenant governor says enough is enough.
Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey notes that the presidential candidate has missed too many votes and has not represented constituents.
According to the Associated Press, Kerry has bothered to vote only 14 times out of the Senate's 112 votes this year.
"It's not fair, it's not right, and the public is not being well served," observed Healey, who said she was speaking on behalf of Gov. Mitt Romney, a fellow Republican.
"I'm calling on John Kerry to resign so that we can fill that office with someone who is 100 percent devoted to the job of representing the people of Massachusetts."
Kerry has previously refused to resign even though he repeatedly fails to show his face at work.
In 1996, Sen. Bob Dole of Kansas gave up his seat in early June before accepting the GOP's presidential nomination.
But some people are special. In 2000, Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., must have figured it was a poor bet to join Al Gore's bandwagon because he kept his day job. In 1988, Sen. Lloyd Bentsen, D-Texas, was likewise too crafty to quit his job when he ran with the doomed Michael Dukakis.
Perhaps Kerry, like these fellow Democrats, expects to lose in November and needs a safety net to fall back on.

If I only showed up 10% of the time, I would be fired rather quickly.
oh, and I don't get paid nearly as much as Kerry does as a Senator. This disgusts me. Come on Massachusetts! Do what is right and fire this dumb snobby jerk!
Come on Massachusetts! Do what is right and fire this dumb snobby jerk!
So, what's new? A Democrat that sticks his head in the sand when there is a job to do. That's just "business as usual" for the libs-and the lib voters in Taxachusetts have voted him and Teddy in over and over
I don't know what Republicans are upset about. I would think that they would consider it an asset for Kerry not to show up. I know I would.
Although I live in Ohio, I have had the honor of meeting Lt. Gov. Healy and hear her speak. She is very impressive. I pray that she takes on Teddy in '06. Or Kerry in '08 (for the Senate).
Not to defend JF'nK, but shouldn't we first check on other Senator/Presidential candidates voting records before we sling mud. I would hate to see it slung into a fan, especially if we were in front of it, so to speak.
Where have you been? Ketsup Kerry's voting records are very well known.
Why would you consider demanding that he show up for work is slinging mud? *rme*
WEll lets say a Pubbie senator from the past missed some senate time because of his campaign, if we point out JF'nK, the media will crucify the Republicans for doing the same thing.
Now as for the Mud Slinging analogy, your right I should have used a better term.
Do we REALLY need more voices from Massachusetts in the Senate?
The point was not how he voted, the point is how many times he has voted since his coronation as the "candidate"
You wanna be Prez? Resign. Getting a Senator's salary while missing Senate business is nothing short of stealing from the taxpayer.
Good for you MR.

I don't know about every one else, but I'd support an amendment that apportioned Congressional salaries to the percentage of votes attended.
