They should have asked the dads if they read to their kids. That would have been interesting to find out.

So, is this survey true? Would you rather your wife go out and work, than have her stay home with the kids? This survey says the men want their women out working at a paying job!!!

Euro RSCG Worldwide survey

I thought FR was for non-fiction news stories.

Only 31% of dads agreed they enjoy shopping for household cleaning products

I wasn't aware that shopping for household cleaning products was something one either enjoyed or didn't enjoy - it's just something you have to do. Oh yes! I am absolutely thrilled to be buying a couple of cans of cleanser! You have no idea!!!

Yeah, other than the sex discussion question there was nothing about how dads interact with their kids in helping them grow. Homework? sports? intelectual (arts, sciences)? what?

Persoanlly, I would rather have my wife at home. Right now we can't afford for her to stay home with my daughter. I am prepared for when the time comes, to teach my daughter about sex, I am prepared for this because I know I can't count on the school system to be truthful with her.

If You Wanna Be Happy
Jimmy Soul

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall
As soon as he married her and then she starts
To do the things that will break his heart

But if you make an ugly woman your wife
A-you'll be happy for the rest of your life
An ug-a-ly woman cooks meals on time
And she'll always give you peace of mind

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

Sax solo

Don't let your friends say you have no taste
Go ahead and marry anyway
Though her face is ugly, her eyes don't match
Take it from me, she's a better catch

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

Spoken:
Say man!
Hey baby!
I saw your wife the other day!
Yeah?
Yeah, an' she's ug-leeee!
Yeah, she's ugly, but she sure can cook, baby!
Yeah, alright!

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So for my personal point of view

I read to my kids quite a bit. We also cover the modern political scene.

Wow, I'm a hard core conservative then... I want and believe my wife should stay home.. yes it hurts our pocket book, but it helps our kids more than any amount of money. Of course part of her staying home means she has to do the work that is entitled with staying home as well, keeping the house, cooking, cleaning etc.

Anyway, for all you "working mom's" out there who want to stay home but hubby won't let ya... sorry to hear ya hitched so poorly.

The Modern-Day American Dad: Conservative, Fat, and Unwilling To Let His Woman Stay Home

I'm conservative, thin (a little too thin), and my wife stays home with our two children. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Conservative - Yes. Fat - 6' 160 lbs. Stay at home wife - Yes, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My thoughts on this are that if she works, she'll wish she was home with the kids. If she's home with the kids, she'll wish she was working. So, guys take the path of least resistance/most payoff.

Personally, if I were married, I would want my sons mother to be at home with him. But, I would also want some preschool or other organized kid interaction for him.

I don't know how I missed this the first time I read this thread. I read to one or both of my kids every night. I was out of town on business the other night and I missed being able to do that.
