This is entirely appropriate. President Bush and Laura are people of grace and courtesy.
Reminds of Bush having a White House screening of that film celebrating Kennedy and Bobby defusing the Bay of Pigs situation. Can't remember the title, but it starred Kevin Costner. Bush invited prominent Dems to the viewing and in effect, honored the memory of JFK.

And has been paid back ever since by Fat Drunk Teddy with daily assualts on his character and honesty. The New Tone strategy by W has been one of the alltime political miscalculations. In this case he couldn't avoid it, since ALL former presidents get a moment or two in the sun.

GWB invited Senator Kennedy over for that showing, and the courtesy was repaid by getting Sen.Ken to sign his name as the author to Bush's no child left behind educational reform (i.e. national testing standards, the ability to fire teachers who perform poorly, the ability to close failing schools, etc.).
That got the far left enraged at Sen Kennedy, so much so that even Kennedy has been forced to turn 180 degrees to bash his own bill (now a law) for bizarre "reasons" (e.g. no funding...on the largest educational spending in world history, uh huh).

Agreed. Plus, in the coming days when the Clintons and Kerry once again bash Bush, Bush will look like the better man- no matter how disgusted *we* are with Bubba and the wicked one's presence in the WH.
