Ex-diplomats call for Bush's defeat
MSNBC ^ | June 13, 2004 | Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Angered by Bush administration policies they contend endanger national security, 26 retired U.S. diplomats and military officers are urging Americans to vote President Bush out of office in November.

The group, which calls itself Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change, does not explicitly endorse Democrat John Kerry for president in its campaign, which will start officially Wednesday at a Washington news conference.

Headline should read: Failed diplomats call for their jobs back so they can fail some more.

Diplomats are coddled political contributors. They are not to be trusted.

Yet we saw nothing of the swift boat veterans from Vietnam who signed a letter saying John Kerry is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief! The very people featured in pics that Kerry likes to show all the time to tell us what a 'hero' he was in his 4 month service and how that is really all he needs-NO mention whatsoever of the swift boat veterans saying Kerry should not be President.

This was on the front page of today's Seattle Times, and was made to appear as a "bi-partisan" critique. But I'd like to see someone analyze the names in this group, and I bet it's 90% Dems with a couple of RINO's thrown in. Their statement reads like DNC talking points. As someone pointed out on another thread, you can find 26 ex-diplomats and military men to criticize ANYONE, including Jesus Christ. This is pro-Kerry propaganda masking as news. You can bet the ranch that a similar statement by ex-officials SUPPORTING Bush would NOT make the front page of the Seattle Times; at best, you might find it on A-6.

It will be funny to see how much play this gets on MSNBC vis-a-vis the Vietnam Vets group that opposes Kerry, especially those who actually served with him.

Given how chock full of leftists the State department is, I am amazed they couldn't come up with more than 26.

“The group does not endorse Kerry, although it more or less goes without saying in the statement,” Harrop said Sunday in a telephone interview.

Nuff said. Bunch of shills.

Matlock was a long-time Democrat who after being named Ambassador to USSR became one of Brent Scowcroft's people during Bush I administration. Scowcroft also saved Richard Clarke who was fired by SecState Baker. I'm surprised that Scowcroft's name is not on the list, although it is possible he is one of the organizers. The Bushes have never learned that loyalty should only go so far.
On Teddy Kennedy, Crowe and Matlock with Gorbachev in 1990 see "A World Transformed" by Bush and Scowcroft, page 217.

The cockroaches are crawling out of the crevices. They hate the end of communism (job security). They hate the end of corrupt and evil regimes (job security) and most of all, they hate the freedom of millions.

I didn't see this article posted anywhere else. If I duplicated I'm sorry. I'd love a link. I posted this because a Democrat friend of mine likes to send stuff like this to me. I always try to answer his articles hoping to enlighten him! I'm a stay-at-home mom that doesn't have all the time in the world to research every single thing he sends. By posting it here, I get help from fellow freepers about the articles. There are a lot of smart people here that have this information in their heads, unlike me, that has to research everything. I don't post very often, just when I'm stumped or strapped for time. Thank you all for chiming in with your often humorous, almost always helpful responses!!

Admiral William Crowe??? Gee, why am I not surprised...That opportunistic idiot...He knew during the 1992 campaign that other military service chiefs would not be supporting Clinton for President....He did and was rewarded with the coveted Ambassadorship to England..
