If he can get a distributor. I've had my fingers crossed for him for some time. Hope he pulls it off.

It's not real, in fact it's also out of context.
It's fabricated and is actually part of an art piece where the "body" is laying on the floor in a lab, a victim of an experiment gone awry.
In this pic the body has been photoshopped onto the street.

Any protests gave more attention to the Reagan film. Publicity they didn't have to pay for.

But Moore's film is a horse of a different color. The film already has anough of a publicity machine behind it. Adding to it with an organized protest characterizies the film as 'the movie the vile right wing doesn't want you to see.'

That isn't good.

It's all a matter of opinion and style, really. An organized protest feeds into Moore's publicity machine, rather than undermines it.

I don't know your background in law to make that claim on sedition. In any case, that's a matter for the Justice Department to persue. What in the world does that have to do with protesters?

I never suggested that no counter view should be issued. Where did I say that. Indeed, this young man's film IS the counter view, and I support it 100%. What makes you think that protest is necessarily the best avenue to advance a counter view?

Talk of rights and responsibilities aside, what does that have to do with the wisdom of a protest? Again, we can and should arm ourselves with the facts

The media depicts conservatives as backward right wingers, zealots, censors, etc. it's not true, of course, but that's the depiction they go with. Way too many people buy into that.

Further, the media will seldom if ever characterize the left wingers as backwards, zealots, censors, etc. That's a fact - conservatives who ignore this fact of life feed into the system that undermines their credibility.

I never argued against the film criticising Moore. I never suggested we don't combat Moore's propoganda. I am saying that an organized protest of Moore's film feeds the publicity machine and the myth behind it, rather than undermines it.

We need to combat this another way. Our side really needs to wise up.

You are free to pick my statements apart, but you didn't.

Protests do feed into the Moore publicity machine, rather than undermine it. They also feed his ego. It makes him seem much more important than he really is.

I don't trust your assesment of that, sorry. You are off base.

I don't doubt that there are lots of uninformed people out there, but that doesn't have much to do with my statement. Indeed, many of those uninformed get their info from mainstream media sources.

"Thje protesters don't want you to see Michael Moore's expose of the Bush administration, a film that won the top award at Cannes." Then they interview one of the more dim-witted people on the protest line and make it look like the criticism of the movie is coming from backwards right wingers who want to censor the movie.

They have done this before, they will do it again.

You are a poor box office prognosticator. The chior WILL go see the movie, but it won't have much appeal beyond that. The movie will do modest business but get a lot of press - it will be crushed, of course, by Spider-Man 2 which opens a few days later. But the newspapers and magazines will continue talking about the film.

Do you really want an article about the protest with a hand-picked picture of a bunch of backward looking, invred-appearing zealots with the title "The movie that the right wing doesn't want you to see!" Moore can't pay for that kind of great publicity.

We shouldn't give it to him.

And finally, I never suggested ignoring the film. I just don't think organized protests is the best avenue towards that. Arm ourselves with the facts and argue about it whenever we can. I do - I embarassed a crabby lady at my supermarket the other day, and had a verbal tussle with a patronizing DNC worker on the streets of NYC that he is still smarting from.

I don't expect to change their minds, but I figure there are peopkle in earshot who might be on the fence and the exchange could motivate. I never appear mean or angry, which also undermines credibility.

Conservatives never get this lesson - the media will never be fair to our side of the issues. An organized protest will not impress the chior going to see the film, and naturally lead to some press coverage for the protest and for the film. This advertises the film, not undermines it. To expect anything else is unrealistic.

Sorry .. but I had to bait you because I knew you had a much stronger case in there somewhere. I promise not to do that very often.

Also .. I was born in Oswego, NY, lived in Wolcott. Loved to shop in Rochester and Syracuse. My Uncle designed and built the park at Fair Haven. My dad is buried at Fair Haven. I still have family in and near Rochester.

I said that because I didn't want you to think I had anything against NY.

Thanks for the real story. It was originally entitled "splat". It appeared as though this person had fallen out of an upper story window. Well that's how it was presented several years ago.

What I and I am sure all freepers would like to see is a comparison of PAID attendance to both these films and see which gets the better viewing... and the only reason I say paid attendance is that eliminates the counting any hollywierd viewing partys for the Moore flick, or any bogus inflated #'s that moore might give for all his lib friends that he sent preview copies too... I for one will be first in line here in AZ for the anti-moore film. :)

It took alot of googling to get the truth.
It didn't look realistic to me, but it's sufficiently disturbing to say the least lol and piqued my curiosity.

The guy who made the original has done some other similar work and seems to be quite good at this weird realism.
If I remember to I'll try and find a link.
