Okay, this is something I've been thinking about for a long time. Since the FReepers and PWs have a lot in common, I suggest the formation of an alliance. We PWs link to you guys, you link to us, we coordinate our operations, and so on. My thought is that we need to forge alliances with other conservative organizations, with those right-of-center, with the undecided. This is gonna be a long campaign against the ANSWERtroopers, against the leftists who hate America and seek to destroy everything that we love about her. First off, I suggest we start with the planned operation in New York City - "Liberty Rising." I believe there's been a thread posted about this previously. How about we start working on how to coordinate a rally together. The rest of us can get in touch with any conservative groups they have contact with, and we can go from there. Our numbers are steadily growing, but numbers are nothing without synchronicity, without connection, without a common purpose. What say we get this alliance started?
I thought we already have.
I didn't know that one. Sorry. Well, if we have, that's good to know. Are we planning any joint opeations any time soon?
BTW, I'm the Gilbert, AZ chapter leader for PW.
Oh, hell. I just figured that we all have the same goals and have been working arm-in-arm against the left for quite some time. It'd be only natural that we'd eventually join up.
I don't know if it'd be anything, "Official," as I'm just one of over 150,000 FReepers speaking my mind here. If you'd want to get the thoughts of the founders of this realm, you'd do good to ask Jim or the Admins.

I'm not a big fan of alliances.
Seperate groups working for the same goal can be more effective than one large conglomerate.
Once groups merge, they lose their individual voices, and take on the appearance of being part of a machine.
The groups will inherit any negative cynical perceptions people may have of the others.
Why allow the critics to attack and dismiss both FR and PW in one breath rather than two?
You bring Belly Girl to the next FReeper gathering and we will make it official.
I got dibs on Belly Girl. Hands OFF!!!
"You bring Belly Girl to the next FReeper gathering and we will make it official."
LOL! I've tried very much to get my daughter to come to some protests with me, no luck so far. I definately feel she could be the next Belly Girl. And now she's even pierced! I've managed to extract a pledge that she'll join the College Republicans in September. Too bad she'll be on campus during the convention. She is at least one truly staunch conservative, even to my right, amazingly. However, her main object for these last few years has been....talking to her friends! But she is on our side, and will be a new voter for Bush, along with the boyfriend, and hubby. That's my three!
I like it.
But only if I get a date with Belly Girl.
I am the great and powerful Laz.
First, I put on my robe and wizard hat.
could someone tell me what a PW is?

I just got a few of their t-shirts and bumper stickers!
On behalf of the Free Republic Network and the 55 chapters it represents, I sent an email to PW asking if they wanted to partner with us (and other groups) this September 11th on our National March Against Terror. I didn't get a response.
We also checked with an attorney who said there is a significant legal liability in crashing someone else's rally, if anything were to happen (Many juries would be starting from the premise that you were crashing an opponent's rally to provoke them, etc.).
Consequently, it was decided as a group to endorse and encourage attendance at stand alone rallies, and, while supporting the activities of groups like the PW, to leave the decision to attend counter rallies up to the individual.
Ah. I understand.
Well, my thought would be that there wouldn't be any obligation to join the counter-rally. This closer communication would be mostly for the sake of those that wanted to join the counter-rallies, to keep people better informed about them, and so on.
While the rallies have never become truly violent, I understand your point.
I cast Lvl. 3 Republicanism.
