The Truth About Islam

Observations by Dr. David R. Reagan

 

Ever since the Attack on America on September 11, 2001, we have heard a never-ending chorus of voices from government, academia, and the media assuring us that the Islamic terrorists who attacked the Trade Towers and the Pentagon are not repre­sentative of “true Islam.” We have been likewise assured by spiritual leaders — even some Christian spokesmen — that Islam is a religion of peace, and that Muslims worship the same God as Christians and Jews.

“Our war is not against Islam,” we have been told repeatedly. “Our war is against terrorism.”

Central Questions

Well, what about it?

• Are Muslims the spiritual brothers and sisters of Christians and Jews?
  
  
• Do we all worship the same God?
  
  
• Are the Islamic holy scriptures, known as the Koran, inspired by God?
  
  
• Is Islam another path to God by which one can attain eternal life?
  
  
• Are the Islamic fundamentalists representative of true Islam, or are they a terrible aberration of an otherwise peace-loving religion?
  
  
• Is our war really a political one against international terrorists, or is it a spiritual battle against a demonic, intolerant, militant, and imperialistic religion known as Islam?

The Intolerant and Militant Nature of Islam

One of the most controversial issues regarding Islam concerns whether or not it is a militant religion. Muslims in the West argue it is peace-loving. Westerners who have experienced it in the Muslim world argue it is inherently in­tolerant and militant.

The Koran itself preaches intolerance toward other religions. Sura 5 contains the following command: “Take not Jews and Christians for friends . . . He among you who takes them for friends is one of them . . . Choose not for friends such of those who received the Scripture before you [Jews and Christians] . .  But keep your duty to Allah” (verses 51, 55, 57). Extreme intolerance is commanded in Sura 5:33 — “[For those who do not submit to Allah] their punishment is . . . execution or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet, from the opposite sides, or exile from the land.”

The Koran also expresses an intolerant attitude toward any person who decides to reject the Islamic faith or convert to another religion. Such persons are to be executed (Sura 9:12). In the Hadith (the oral tradition of Muhammad’s sayings) it says “Whoever changes his religion, kill him” (Hadith 9:57). These commands are practiced in all Islamic Fundamentalist countries today.

With regard to militancy, the Koran not only condones it, it commands it:

Fighting is prescribed for you, and [some of] you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not (Sura 2:16).

Fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war (Sura 9:5).

Fight in the way of Allah . . . and slay them [the unbelievers] wherever you find them and drive them out . . . and fight them until . . . religion is for Allah (Sura 2:190-193).

Muhammad is quoted in the Hadith as saying, “The sword is the key of heaven and hell. A drop of blood in the cause of Allah — a night spent in arms [war] — is of more avail than two months of fasting and prayer. Whosoever falls in battle, his sins are forgiven, and at the day of judgment, his limbs shall be supplied by the wings of angels and cherubim.”¹²

The Imperialistic Nature of Islam

From its inception, Islam has been committed to what it calls jihad — a word mean­ing holy war. The duty of Muslims is to subjugate or destroy “infidels” — the term the Koran uses for all non-believers.

In the Muslim viewpoint, the world is divided into two regions — those areas controlled by Islam, called Dar al-Islam (meaning the House of Islam) and those called Dar al-Harb (the House of War). The Koran commands Mus­lims to fight non-Muslims until they exterminate all other religions, leaving Islam as the one and only religion in the world (Suras 2:193 and 8:39). Muhammad is quoted in the Hadith as saying, “I have been ordered to fight with the people until they say, none has the right to be worshiped but Allah” (Hadith 4:196).

Regarding terror, Allah orders Muslims to terrorize non-Muslims on his behalf: “Strike terror (into the hearts of ) the enemies of Allah and your enemies” (Sura 8:60). Allah then assures his followers that he will assist them: “I will instill terror into the hearts of unbelievers. Smite them above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them. It is not you who slay them, it is Allah” (Sura 8:12, 17).

Concerning jihad,¹⁴ the Koran guarantees Paradise to those who fight for Allah (Sura 4:74). It promises instant Paradise for those who die in battle (Suras 9:111 and 47:5-6). Dying for Allah is presented as better than living: “And if you are killed or die in the Way of Allah, forgiveness and mercy from Allah are far better than all that others may amass [of worldly wealth]” (Sura 3:157).

Martyrs are promised a sensual and luxurious life in Paradise (Sura 52:17-22). According to Al-Ghazzali, one of Islam’s greatest teachers, when a martyr reaches Paradise, he “will marry 500 companions, 4,000 virgins, and 8,000 divorced women.”¹⁵ Commenting on this statement, Randall Price, biblical teacher and Middle East expert, observed that the Islamic Paradise is “just the kind of place that adolescent, unmarried men, isolated through their lives from the opposite sex by rigid cultural standards, would die for.”¹⁶

Fundamentalist Goals

The Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran was the modern day Islamic spokesman who revived Muhammad’s vision of world con­quest. He taught that the re-establishment of Israel was a Satanic miracle allowed by Allah because of the lukewarmness of the Muslim masses. He called for a renewal of true Islam to accomplish three purposes:¹⁹

1. To overthrow the “secular” rulers of Islamic countries (like Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt), just as he had done in Iran.
   
   
2. To take back the land of Palestine for Allah, exterminating Israel in the process.
   
   
3. To conquer the rest of the world for Allah.

Notice the first priority was the transformation of secular Islamic countries into religious states ruled by the Koran. Then would come Israel and the world.

In a proclamation made by Osama bin Laden in 1998, he listed the same goals and prioritized them in the same order.²⁰ He then identified the United States as the prime obstacle to the achievement of these goals. Accordingly, he called on Muslims everywhere “to comply with Allah’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it.”

It is important to note that the eradication of Israel is not the top priority. Nor is Israel viewed as the major obstacle to world conquest. I emphasize this because many Americans are saying that the key to winning the war against terrorism is to dump Israel. More and more, on radio talk shows, I hear people saying, “Let’s cut Israel loose. Let the Arabs have it. Then they will leave us alone.”

That is utter nonsense. Israel is not the cause of Islamic terrorism toward the West. If Israel were to disappear tomorrow, Fundamentalist Islam would still be determined to destroy America as part of its plan to take the world for Allah. And if we were to abandon Israel, the Muslim world would interpret it as an act of cowardice, proving our word is meaningless and that we truly are, as they say, “a depraved society devoid of values.” Our abandonment of Israel would only whet their appetite. Islamic Fundamentalism cannot be appeased. It must be de­feated.

Islam was created to be the army of God, the army of Alalh. Every single Muslim is a soldier in this army. Every single Muslim that dies in fighting for the spread of Islam is a martyr no matter how he dies, because It's not a war that stops. This war is there because it was created by Allah. Islam must be the ruler. This a war that will not end.

Now the two civilizations are not Islam and Christianity. It is Islam versus everyone else.

Peace in Islam can exist only within the Islamic world; peace can only be between Muslim and Muslim. To those who are not Muslim, there in only one solution - either domination or a cease-fire until the Muslim can grow strong enough to dominate.

You know the God by the revelation. The Law of Moses came from God. Jesus came from God. The revelation to Mohammad came from God.

What these revelations convey is the God who gave them.

One of the many thousands of decendants of Mohammed lived with me in Taiwan for more than a year. He was from Morocco. He had converted to Christianity. He had researched the source of the word "Allah" extensively. He emphatically assured me, as have other researchers available on the web, that Allah was the name of a demonic moon god in the area where Mohammed's family originated and where he had his demonic 'channelings.'

Some of Mohammed's own close friends at the time persuaded Mohammed that the voices he was hearing were NOT demonic. ORIGINALLY, MOHAMMED HIMSELF HAD CORRECTLY LABELED THEM AS DEMONIC.

I no longer have any doubt about the issue. Much better scholars on the topic than I have researched it extensively. I accept their research and judgment.

Certainly the characterization of Almighty God made by the Islamists is NOT the character I have met in the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

NY Slimes' Review of Slick Willie's book, "My LIES!!"

As his celebrated 1993 speech in Memphis to the Church of God in Christ demonstrated, former President Bill Clinton is capable of soaring eloquence and visionary thinking. But as those who heard his deadening speech nominating Michael Dukakis at the 1988 Democratic National Convention in Atlanta well know, he is also capable of numbing, self-conscious garrulity. Unfortunately for the reader, Mr. Clinton's much awaited new autobiography "My Life" more closely resembles the Atlanta speech, which was so long-winded and tedious that the crowd cheered when he finally reached the words "In closing . . ."

The book, which weighs in at more than 950 pages, is sloppy, self-indulgent and often eye-crossingly dull — the sound of one man prattling away, not for the reader, but for himself and some distant recording angel of history. In many ways, the book is a mirror of Mr. Clinton's presidency: lack of discipline leading to squandered opportunities; high expectations, undermined by self-indulgence and scattered concentration. This memoir underscores many strengths of Mr. Clinton's eight years in the White House and his understanding that he was governing during a transitional and highly polarized period. But the very lack of focus and order that mars these pages also prevented him from summoning his energies in a sustained manner to bring his insights about the growing terror threat and an Israeli-Palestinian settlement to fruition.

Certainly it's easy enough to understand the huge advance sales for the book. Mr. Clinton would seem to have all the gifts for writing a gripping memoir: gifts of language, erudition and charm, combined with a policy wonk's perception of a complex world at a hinge moment in time, teetering on the pivot between Cold War assumptions and a new era of global interdependence. Add to that his improbable life story — a harrowing roller-coaster ride of precocious achievements, self-inflicted slip-ups and even more startling comebacks — and you have all the ingredients for a compelling book. But while Dan Rather, who interviewed Mr. Clinton for "60 Minutes," has already compared the book to the memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant, arguably the most richly satisfying autobiography by an American president, "My Life" has little of that classic's unsparing candor or historical perspective. Instead, it devolves into a hodgepodge of jottings: part policy primer, part 12-step confessional, part stump speech and part presidential archive, all, it seems, hurriedly written and even more hurriedly edited.

In fact, "My Life" reads like a messy pastiche of everything that Mr. Clinton ever remembered and wanted to set down in print; he even describes the time he got up at 4 a.m. to watch the inaugural ceremonies for Nigeria's new president on TV. There are endless litanies of meals eaten, speeches delivered, voters greeted and turkeys pardoned. There are some fascinating sections about Mr. Clinton's efforts to negotiate a Middle East peace agreement (at one point, he suggests that Yasir Arafat seemed confused, not fully in command of the facts and possibly no longer at the top of his game), but there are also tedious descriptions of long-ago political debates in Arkansas over utility regulation and car license fees . There are some revealing complaints about missteps at the FBI under Louis Freeh's watch , but there are also dozens of pointless digressions about matters like zombies in Haiti and ruins in Pompeii. Mr. Clinton confesses that his affair with Monica Lewinsky was "immoral and foolish," but he spends far more space excoriating his nemesis, independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr, and the press. He writes at length about his awareness that terrorism was a growing threat, but does not grapple with the unintended consequences of his administration's decisions to pressure Sudan to expel Osama bin Laden in 1996 (driving sent the al Qaeda leader to Afghanistan, where he was harder to track) or to launch cruise missile attacks against targets in Sudan and Afghanistan in retaliation for the embassy bombings in 1998 (an act that some terrorism experts believe fueled terrorists' conviction that the United States was an ineffectual giant that relied on low-risk high technology).

You really believe that? No evidence to that yet. Take a look at Saudi Arabia; that country is close to total civil war. If we properly confront Islam and it's terrorism, Mud, we can still win, I think...maybe...in fifty years. Maybe. It's taken Israel fifty years to come to the realization that giving up their land will not appease the Palestinian muslims.
But we aren't quite there yet, (where Israel is today) on dealing with terrorism.

I can tell that you are very optimistic about defeating Islamic terrorism...well how do you propose we do that, (in our lifetime) when our leaders, ( and I include the Honorable President Bush ) will not even call it what it is: "Islamic" terrorism?

The entire free world dances around this issue, leaders are afraid to call it Islamic terrorism, for fear of being called bigoted. They call them militants, extremists, etc.

In Europe you can get arrested, fined, and threatened with jail time, for critisizing Muslims. Just ask Bridgett Bardot.

To deny the connection between Islam and Islamic terrorism is like denying the connection between the Soviet Union and Communism, 1945 Germany and the Nazis. Islam and Islamic terrorism are inexorably tied together at the hip, and until a majority of the people get to that understanding...we ain't even close to getting a handle on it, much less DEFEAT it.

But this IS part of the problem: It is so difficlt to get folks to look at this problem and honestly look at all the sides of this difficult issue; On one side lefties are charging bigotry, on the Right side, they are afraid of being called bigots, while other conservatives are blindly going on good faith that Islamics (as a majority) are going to welcome freedom and democracy like Western Society does!
I think the Iraqies cheering after a hundred folks (mostly fellow Iraqies) were killed in that car bombing a week ago, should pretty well dispel that starry eyed belief.

Check out this book, because we have got a lot of work ahead, and part of that work is to try and understand this religion on a level a little deeper than "Islam is a religion of peace, and it was just hijacked by some radicals." (I know that's not your quote, but how many times have we heard it, here, and everywhere else?)

So, yer saying Allah is an anti-God, and Muslims are somehow evil-worshipers? Maybe some are, that would explain a lot, but I gotta believe the vast majority of worshipers are practicing their faith under the assumption that their God is a GOOD diety. If 3% of the Muslims are the fanatical bad guys (I still dispute that number, FBD), then 97% are NOT fanatical bad guys. Wonder what percentage of the 97% believe Allah is a demonic moon-God? I'd bet the lion's-share of them believe Allah is Good!!

And, as I've pondered that very point over the years . . . I've ended up feeling that

God's HE THAT SEEKS ME SHALL FIND ME

would still mercifully apply to all earnestly seeking Him. Perhaps it's on the basis of such faith that many have had dreams and visions of Jesus in recent years and have converted--many not even having heard of any such Jesus before.
