Ronnie Reagan, Jr.: Stated his dad never wore his heligion on his sleeve, and never felt he had a mandate from God.......unlike some other politicians. This was in his tribute to his dad at the funeral.
No, he slammed Clinton, who used religion as a prop.
No, more likely he was talking about Slick Willie.
Maybe he was referring to Jimmy Carter.
Or maybe ... just maybe ... he was referring to Ronald Reagan.
Nope it was a Bush slam. Only Bush believes that he was mandated from God into the Presidency...and Ron Jr. HATES W!
He's an idiot then... Ronnie most ASSUREDLY believed he had a mandate from God - that's why he wasn't shy about calling a communist spade a communist spade.
Thanks, I would hate to think that. It makes sense, Clinton did play that game, didn't her!
More like Carter.
I got that feeling too. It seemed directed towards Bush. Clinton never wore it on his sleeve or thought he had a mandate from God, he just used it as a prop when needed.
I think it was definitly aimed at Bush. I caught that right away. Him being a green and all.
No kidding! Well, it was my first thought. That is too bad, the funeral was no place for that sort of thing. Everyone else has managed to abstain from agenda eulogizing.
I think it was a little slam on Bush, however, it will end up being a metaphorical Rorschach test, with people interpreting it however they want, which is fine.
Ronnie hates George. Ronnie slammed him in 2000 and has stated on the record that Dubya and his cabinet are a bunch of low-lifes.
he hates Bush and makes it no secret. Definitely a shot at Bush.
Good ole Bubba went to church on Palm Sunday and played with Monica right after services.
Yes, he did. Ronnie (not a junior - different middle name) can't stand Bush, he's a big liberal. Even at his Dad's funeral he couldn't resist taking a jab at Bush - typical tacky liberal behavior.
Clinton just believed he was have "religious experiences" in the oval office.
Only Bush openly acknowledges it, RR Jr. does hate him for some reason.
Dr. Moomaw didn't mention it today, but it has been said that Mr. Reagan believed there was something special in mind for him when he did not die at the bullet of an assassin so early into his first term.
