You know, I loved the man and I've cried through these days of memory, but I surely fail to see the beauty in the spot he chose for his library. The reporters keep talking about the beautiful scenery and all I see is brown dirt. Guess I'm spoiled living amidst all this greenery.
Yet another sign of the greatness of Reagan.
I have been to Simi Valley. I have to tell you it is much more beautiful in person. Everything does have the tan tint , as does much of California. But one of the most beautiful roads I have ever seen is taking 118 from Simi Valley towards the San Fernando Valley. I have at least 50 photos in my dresser and I always look at them from time to time to reminisce.
I lived near there for years. I thought the view of mountains and oceans was gorgeous. I suppose there are other places in the country where you can see for miles, and it isn't just cityscape. but few strike me as imposing as this.
BTW, the brown isn't dirt, it's chapparal in the dry season.
I thought the same thing. Maybe this is one of the areas that has very little rain. I thought how easy a fire could take out the whole area. Hope they've made special provision for a fire.
