I thought several of the people who came to the casket right before the military, were probably his Secret service detail. Saw big guys giving crisp salutes with looks of grief on their face.
I think you are right -- I heard some of his detail had returned for this week. One guy in particular had been with him until he no longer went out. Seeing the salutes really get to me.
Just something I have been wondering about, as protocol. Is it just those that have served in the military who have the privilege of saluting?
