On another thread which posted a link to burial arrangements being made by Presidents, it mentioned Clinton hadn't made his yet.

I'm imaging him trying to get strippers for his funeral and an upside down cigar on the horse's stirrup. He just hasn't convinced Hillary that that's what his devoted really want.

"He must have a very ill soul."

Yes, think so. Of course, it may be the residue of 'Liberalmind' that weakens Ron into a mean-spiritedness that his Father never had and now has him confused as well.

Seems it is Ron that does not understand the gift of 'power'. In this case, the power of words - how they hurt, damage and can kill, if even a cherished and historical, moment in time that was designed only to honor his Father.

Too bad. I do hope, really for President Bush's sake; this is left alone. (surely he as well as all his family, got the messaged jolt, as he watched this)

Perhaps, with a 'second thought' on the possible public probing, Ron will come up with a better explanation and relieve all of us.

He does, just hasn't got the paperwork done...you know, with the book & all, he's been busy...the plan involves a hole out back of the doublewide, right next to the septic tank.

I can't remember hearing Battle Hymn alot either before 9-11. I know it was played at both services today but seem to think it was played one other time. Was it played on Wednesday, at the Capitol?

I knew this day would wound me so, but couldn't steel myself against it. When I heard and saw him speak about the Challenger disaster that I watched live on TV in my sophomore year of high school, I was his man for life.

God bless Ronnie. He walks with the angels this night, and they are the better for it.

I think she's wife #9. King's another one who trades wives in like the family automobile. Or maybe he's a such a big jerk at home that even all his money can't overcome having to put up with him and the women leave.

So, invite somebody else to do your eulogy.

Why, oh why must you always pick fights? It was extremely inappropriate for Ron to make that remark. A eulogy should never contain negative remarks. Okay, Princess Diana's brother gets a pass.

I was braced for the worst when I heard that Patti and Ron would deliver eulogies. Thankfully there was just one snotty little jab at whomever.

Whatever we think of Carter, remember he didn't leave office under the same circumstances that Nixon did. IMO Nixon's family did well in its request at the time of his passing. Dignitaries attended, but America did not celebrate its heritage in hearty fashion.

Jimmy Carter's family (thus, America) will deserve honors when it's time. Remember, Jimmy (and Clinton, too) represented the federal government to the world. Also remember that funerals are for the living. Presidents' passings automatically mean something to Americans.

HAH I read my own post and I sound like a dope. But I'll finish. Let's save 'the way these men come to represent our country' as a matter to be discussed & wrangled & fought another day (the trick there being to make sure we actually do it).

He does walk with the angels. I remember the day he was shot -- it was terrible. So many memories came back today especially.

I can still remember taps playing when my Dad died like it was yesterday and then they handed my Mom the flag. At that point, it was so final so when the Captain of the USS Reagan handed Nancy the flag, I totally lost it -- been losing it all day but at that moment it hit home.

WOW!!! Wonder what is the record for wives? No wonder he is still working -- support payments must be huge!

I stayed out of the Ron Reagan controversy most of the night but I am rewatching the service (3rd time) and the Congregation is singing (cannot remember the name of the song). Pattie is singing with her Mom and Ron is standing there not singing at all. Just noticed that. I was surprised he didn't say more too -- what he said went right over my head until it was pointed out.

How can one look at the life of Ronald Reagan and not conclude that there is a God?

Ron Reagan, one can hope, will grow up into a fine young man. He may follow in the steps of his outstanding father. One can hope, as he is the product of two fine human beings, Ron and Nancy Reagan.

LOL!!! It's late here in flyover county. That's okay, I put on another thread that I wished Barbara Bush had been sitting behind the Clintons when they fell asleep and hit them on their heads with her purse! :)

He's got some anger and showed his immaturity today, is my take.
