you guys are funny but TERRIBLE. (lol)
Very stirring. We had a B52 fly over us on July 4th while we were in High School marching band and playng "Final Countdown." It was about 90 degrees and I had goosebumps in that hot uniform.
That Marine breaking down is something.
Ron R. has made it very clear that he despises President Bush. In an interview some months ago, his voice just dripped with contempt as he described the president as stupid -- using that very word as I recall. He told the interviewer he voted for Ralph Nader - couldn't even vote for the standard-bearer of his own father's party. Now the "politicians (brother Michael is not one) who wear their religion on their sleeve" slam.
Ron should go watch a video of his father's acceptance speech to the 1980 GOP convention --- fast forward to the end --- then reconsider his criticism of "politicians who wear their religion on their sleeve."
Exactly! Or as some people put it "between when I left for college and when I came back, my parents really learned a lot!"
I've heard so many news shows try and downplay the obvious similarites between Reagan and GWBush. There are obviously some similarities that are undeniable. But I think the media doesn't want to point them out for fear that it could possibly make some Reagan supporters into Bush supporters.
Oh, NO! It would be unbecoming only if he had been crying about something stupid. Big tough fighting men have soft hearts too when they are supposed to.
"It's their loss..." -- Meese.
Scouts have pretty much been run out of LA...but they are alive and well in Simi Valley.
(meaning they now have to meet at private schools in LA, they are banned from LA Public Schools...you can thank the ACLU for that one too)
I just read an article that explained that she took her mom's last name because she's a professional writer. I don't know if it's true or not.
I'm with ya.
Anyone banned from L.A. public schools should count their blessings.
You pointed out the word that made the difference with people's interpretation of what Ron Reagan said. He said "politicians" --- which means to me that he was not slamming his half-brother Michael, but President Bush.
I tell ya when I look at those guys in uniform, no matter what branch, I feel like my ribcage is going to explode, I feel so proud!
Ah well, I can't stop yawning now after all that emotion being spent... time for bed.
We no longer have cable, so I would flip from those I dispise, jennings, brokaw etc and the regular Fox Channel (which is fuzzy complete with noise-off and on but BRET was on that Fox channel as well, Thank God), leaving each of the alphabet channels when a jab was taken at President Reagan, flipping channels a bunch, as it were.
I heard jennings (pretty sure it was jennings) responding to a remark one of his co-horts made about the large crowds lining the streets, saying something along the line that 'oh yes, probably there were front men out there today attempting to gather crowds for this welcoming home to Reagan'.
THIS REALLY ANGERED ME.
Can that be true? I just don't believe it-not when people were waiting EIGHT hours there and more to pass by Reagan just a few days ago, and when thousands WAITED at all hours thru the night to walk by President Reagan in the rotunda.
Are you watching the replay of the mass this moring on c-span?
Did you catch that little pow wow of Clinton and Kerry??
Reagan kept a daily journal we haven't seen yet.
Then they talked about how they couldn't get approval from all the necessary agencies for aerial coverage of the motorcade from Simi to Mugu on the way to DC.
Makes me think one of these days they'll ground the helicopter coverage of a real news event "for security reasons." This is the liberal media after all.
I wish I could reserve judgement, but I'vve read too much of what Ron has said i the past, and his words fit perfectly the template of how the Left criticized Dubya in a personal way.
I agree, though, the last thing we need is for the media to play it up.
It just hurt, hearing him say that.
Sleep well. You won't be alone!
